Pointless, but fun!,

This review is from: Inuyasha Ani-Manga, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
This is almost a word-for-word transfer of the English dub script onto paper, accompanied by screen shots. It covers the first three episodes of the TV show. If this sounds good to you, pick it up right now, 'cause you won't be disappointed!I adore the show, and the dub too usually, and totally didn't mind forking over $10 for some great quality pictures and a bit of a guide to the dub script. (Plus, the incomplete sentences in episode 1 come out a *lot* better on paper.) However, a choice few lines and scenes were cut, redone (often to follow the subtitles), or shortened (my favorite part of the episode 2 dub, where Inuyasha says something like, "maybe you haven't noticed, but the world's full of monsters. You want I should go after them all?" was rephrased in here to be "you want me to" instead of "you want I should", which I had happened to think was about the funniest thing ever ^_^), so it isn't a dead-on guide, but if this really upsets you, I suggest you seek professional help. Other fans might be angered about how the manga was flipped by Viz to read the Western way but this book is printed in Japanese style for pretty much no reason (since the dub was pretty Americanized anyway), but, I don't really care, and I don't recommend that you do either. (Oh god, they put Koga's jewel shard in HIS OTHER ARM!! THE TRAVESTY!!!) Both the manga and the show aren't meant to be taken that seriously. The creator has a great sense of humor. Just enjoy it!

Inu-Yasha Uncovered in Ani-Manga Form.,
By Chao-Chen (Jack) Lin "The Professional" (Surrey, BC, Canada.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Inuyasha Ani-Manga, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
You know, I've seen and heard about some Japanese Anime shows that are being put in Ani-Manga form, but I've never seen that kind of format would be as good as in Inu-Yasha. Of course, if you like to see anime in still motion, you're welcome to try it. The colour is so good, and the art is so superb!
Of course, the drawback is that some screencaps are omitted or altered for the book format, but I wouldn't be much worried about it anyway. All in all, this is a great way to start knowing about Inu-yasha, and nothing does it better than VIZ themselves. Overall, I'll give this title a 5 stars (AKA An A+) for its outstanding performance and animation arts. So, I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks, bye!

The perfect book for any Inu-Yasha fan!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Inuyasha Ani-Manga, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
When I first saw the TV show, Inu-Yasha, I fell in love with it immediately. Unfortunatly, I wanted to own all the episodes for myself and my family doesn't have much money to buy all the videos. So I went to Borders and bought this first book! I loved it because it went exactly by the TV series and was amusing each time I read it. I can't wait till I raise enough money to get the second book. I hope that someday I will get all the books... atleast for the first season. The books will also last longer than the movies, and easier to handle. I really recommend to any Inu-Yasha fan to own atleast the first book in these series!

I bought this ani-manga for myself awhile back and just bought one for my best friend's birthday and she loves it! We both have been big fans of the InuYasha series since we were young teenagers and this ani-manga has WONDERFUL animated art from the anime and an AWESOME storyline! It has alot of ancient Japanese mythology and we LOVE IT! This series is very fun, entertaining, neat, creative, charming, and enjoyable. It has action, horror, romance, drama, comedy, EVERYTHING! A great buy! We are very satisfied customers!

You know I love Inuyasha; the story, the characters, the animation. It has everything you want in a great story. If you liked the TV show then you should buy this. First I couldn't believe they didn't finish it in anime and now the ending isn't even available in manga in the US, I already sent a letter to Viz and they never got back to me about it. Maybe if enough people start demanding it, they might actually give us what we want.

interesting note about this particular book
this version ISBN 1-59116-202-5 is in color and read backwards from standard American books -( book opens from the left ) also the plates and translation are different from an earlier (1998 verses this 2001) version I have. both came from the same publisher though, VIZ. I thought this was important and note worthy. also of interest is the written sound affects, they are not in English but there is a translation cell by cell in the book. I think this book is a very cool addition to my budding Inu-Yasha collection.

Ani-Manga Inuyasha Series,
This review is from: Inuyasha Ani-Manga, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
Before I tell you all about this series I would like to inform you...
I watched the anime series frequently, but I lost track of it when I became busy with my work. So when I saw the books I noticed that it was much like the series even the graphics where alike. So now on to my review... The series starts and revolves around a girl, a mission, and a demon boy. A girl named Kagome is thrown back into the past of what they call 'Feudal Japan'. That is where she realizes that she has a sacred jem in her and it is torn from her body; little does she know that this jem is one of the most desired by demon and human alike. When in danger she is saved by a half-breed demon named Inuyasha who later becomes a good guy, even if he wishes to become a full demon. When they two are trying to gain the precious jem back, Kagome ends up shattering it into thousands of peices...as so begins the journey for the scattered peices, and thus that is how a average teenage girl's life is changed into one of saving the past and discovering a feelings between a half-breed dog demon, named Inuyasha... I hope that that was of so help... Hypnotic~

Legend becomes reality...,
This review is from: Inuyasha Ani-Manga, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
Book:
Inuyasha, a half demon wishing to become a full demon, is trying to get a jewl but is stopped by a woman named, Kikyo. The story then goes on and takes place 50 years later, with the exception that Kagome, the re-encarnation of Kikyo, who lives in present Japan and is mysteriously taken back to fudal Japan. Kagome and Inuyasha must work together to find all the shards of the shattered jewl before the evils of the world get them first...can they do it or will there bickering get the better of them. --- My Opinion: After a few pages I soon discovered that one of these books is the equivalent to three Inuyasha episodes...the only difference is the fact you read it and it is on paper... I would say I enjoyed it but if you don't really care for reading something that you can watch and get the same thing...I don't recommend it...but if your a big fan and you just can't get enough I recommend it for you... |
