Good music!!!,
This review is from: Inuyasha O.S.T. 2 (Audio CD)
This CD was VERY good. It's mostly BG music with a few vocals, but well worth it. Since Amazon.com hasn't put up the trackings, I'll post them here myself.1. I Am (TV size) I hope this review has helped you. I can't believe that amazon hasn't put up trackings yet! This can really help you decide if you wanna buy it or not. All these tracks are basically BackgroundMusic from the actual series.

This InuYasha album contains 2 CD's:CD 1: CD 2: Bonus Tracks: Well, I hoped that helped! This CD has something for every InuYasha fan. I personally like the original versions of the songs, but there's some that are technoed up for parties and such. It's a great addition to any InuYasha collection! The cover artwork is really stunning. The CD booklet contains the words to the songs (if you can read Japanese, that is!) You'll never get bored of these songs.

Lemme just say this...if you're an Inu-Yasha fan, you'll LOVE this!! Not only dose it capture the scenes in the show PERFECTLY, but its got the sound to fit the time period the show is set in. If you're not a fan of the show, you might want to buy the first OST. Then you'll understand where some of the remixes come from. Anyway, if you're not a fan of the show, but enjoy the sounds of Feudal Japan in an anime style, then this is an excellent CD for you! I espically enjoyed track 6, titled 'Demon Inu-Yasha'. I think this song captures the frightening transformation of Inu-Yasha's full demon form. The sound of it is as scary as he is! Another favorite is track 15, titled 'The Wind User~Kagura'. It captures the free spirit, and yet still held captive by Naraku, of the evil wind demon Kagura, but it's a GREAT example of the fuedal Japan sound that I love! Last, but not least, is my all time favorite track 25, 'Inu-Yasha and Kagome II'. It's a BEAUTIFUL song that, again, is a great example of the acicent era the show is set in. However, it captures the sweet love shared by the two main characters in the first half, and then in the second half of the song, the heartbreaking feeling of Kagome as she seems to come last in the Kagome-Inu-Yasha-Kikyo triangle. Anyway, all in all, this is a GREAT soundtrack! From the evil sound of Naraku in track 4, 'Naraku's Ambition', to the remix of all the main character's themes in track 31, 'Inu-Yasha's Poem', to the last track on the CD, 'Homage to Inu-Yasha' (which is nothing but a haunting paino solo of the half demon's theme), this CD ROCKS! I highly recommend it, and I promise you all, it's well worth the money! ^__^

I think that this CD is really good. It has the opening and closing songs in their TV length. As well as the background music for most of the first season of Inu Yasha. I really enjoy listening to it because it has all the classes of music in it. From of course the happy scenes, to the serious scenes, and to the flat out unsettling. It is one to really check out. I give it 5 stars because it has the most of the first season background music, unlike a few CD's, and it's just realy really powerful.

even though that this CD is filled with mostly music, with one or two songs that has lyrics, the music can put a picture in your head when you listen to it. it makes you feel like you are watching the show.

I really like the series, presented on the Cartoon Channel's "Adult Swim," so I was interested in getting something so frequently given a "five star" rating.
This is a Japanese import so there is virtually no text in English to speak of. There is a very nice color booklet with the show's major "good" characters and a few of the lead villians. The individual scores are mostly very short, under two minutes. A few of them are listed as a separate track yet are under 10 seconds in length (the music leading into a commerical break)! A handful are longer than three minutes and one is over seven minutes. The standout in my mind is the show's closing song (which has vocals also). I would rank about 1/3 of the songs as outstanding. Standout tracks include "I AM (TV Size)," "Like a Storm," "Naraku's Treachery," "Struggle of Hatred," "Trap," "Sango Soaring to the Heavens," "Kikyo's Heart," and "Fukai Mori" (TV Size, translated as "Deep Forest" as I recall). I was disappointed a few of my favorite scores were not on the disk [I don't know their names but they appear early in the episodes that have appeared on "Adult Swim"]. Another 1/3 of the tracks are at least interesting and evocative of the show, and 1/3 are largely forgetable. Much like the first soundtrack this CD starts out with dramatic, sinister, and eerie tracks, transitions to more light-hearted fare, then changes back to the more dramatic scores again. It begins strong and finishes strong, but portions of the middle are a bit weak. Some of the tracks are little derivative, for example "Dearest (BGM Strings Version)" sounds like it was lifted from the Titanic movie soundtrack. It's also inferior to the piano version used on the DVDs. A couple of cuts, such as "Ryukosei Resurrected" have horn sections that recall those 1960s Japanese monster movies. Strangely, it does seem to fit, given the power of that particular villian. That all said, the most objectionable thing about this CD is the price. It's not a bargain, and I would never have paid the full price. I got it discounted and am glad more than ever that I did. A similar problem exists with the DVDs for the TV show. [Added later: you can find this CD for as little as 11.49 + 5.00 shipping at discount anime websites, so I don't know where this $50.00+ pricetag justifies itself]. So, a very good to excellent soundtrack, very nice booklet, but losing a star for the reasons above.

I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it! I've never loved a soundtrack so much. It really captures the show, the scenes, the action, the adventure, the romance, and the fun! Some songs are really cartoonish, as they're meant to be by their titles, but others are full of suspense. Every moment is captured, like Naraku's plots, Inuyasha's scary metamorphosis, Sesshomaru's slow internal transformation, Miroku's lechery and debauchery, Sango's suffering over her little brother Kohaku, Kagome and Inuyasha's secret feelings for each other, Kagome's heartbreak, Kikyo's heart of sorrow, Inuyasha's triumph over all adversity. The strings version of Ayumi Hamasaki's Dearst is so beautiful. My fave theme is The ending, Fukai Mori by Do As Infinity. Totally worth the price!

This is an amazing listening experience for fans, non-fans, and even those who have never seen the show. The scores and songs truly capture the fantastic essence of Rumiko Takahashi's Inu-Yasha, while at the same time each track stands apart in its own right. Even for those who don't understand the words or the meanings, this cd is still very much worth the experience.

I don't really know why it's so expensive on Amazon (this CD isn't even listed on B&N). Anyway, I found this website that offers the same thing (I think) for a much better price: http://gkworld.zoovy.com/product/GKW2290I haven't bought any Inuyasha soundtracks yet. Still shopping around for good deals. |
