I'm a huge fan of the Inuyasha series and when I found out that there was an RPG of the storyline, I immediately went out and bought a brand new Nintendo DS (because I didn't have one to begin with) and went on a search for the game itself. After hitting three stores, I finally found it and on sale! Not to put down Amazon, I buy most of all my media online, but I wanted this right away versus waiting for it to arrive in the mail.
Anyway, I haven't been able to put down this game since I bought it. I'll spare you the story recap as the other reviews do a good job of explaining that part, but in terms of the pros and cons in my opinion: PROS: - Excellent storyline and twists - The game keeps you guessing the whole time. Just when you think it's going to wrap up they throw you another curve ball and you're right back to guessing what to do next. - Graphics and likeness to characters is impeccable!! - All the powers and special abilities in the series are used throughout the game and some new ones are introduced too!! CONS: - The intro to the game does take a long time, but I like to think that it's needed as set-up for the story and it helps you get used to how the game works. - There are far too many demon encounters, but just like the series, demons always attack in droves and sometimes the heroes have to run away. Either way, the many battles help you build up money and xPoints. - The instruction booklet doesn't explain each characters individual powers or all of the many items you pick up along the way. Sure, some of the powers you know from the series, but new ones aren't exactly explained and some items don't seem to do anything but take up room in your characters inventory. Overall, if you are an Inuyasha fan, I would highly recommend this purchase, but try and find it on sale. No one should have to pay over $30 for any video game.

This game was really fun to play. It is an RPG to its most basic forms. Heavy text, long battles, interesting and deep characters. You start off as a young girl from America who comes to Japan to live. There, she meets Kagome and follows here home and into a mysterious well (I'll spare you the whole story). Just know it follows closely with the storyline from Inuyasha, including powers and characters from the show.
The only downfall is, being an RPG, it can get long. Also, it WILL take you about an hour of gameplay to find and play as any characters you recognize. Overall, I am 4 hours of gameplay in, and about 75%(my guess) of the way through. The upgrades and battles get better as you go. One of the best RPGs for the DS, and the best Inuyasha game on the market.

As an InuYasha fan I've had a lot of fun playing this game. It's alot like the Playstation 2 game INUYASHA: SECRET OF THE CURSED MASK, in that it's an InuYasha RPG where you play a modern-day student who is sent back in time and ends up traveling with InuYasha, Kagome, and the others.
Your character in this game is Janet, an American girl whose family came to Japan and who made friends with Kagome while there. One day it is announced that Kagome has fallen ill and can't come to school. Concerned, Janet comes to the Higurashi shrine to check up on her. When she arrives a demon appears before her and tries to kill her, but then a strange monk appears and slays the demon. He calls himself Sen, and then tells Janet she needs to travel down the well, and disappears. Janet jumps down the well, and ends up in InuYasha's time. Eventually she finds InuYasha and the others, and Janet learns that she has incredible mystical powers she never knew about, and that as long as she has them demons will be after her. She then sets out with InuYasha and crew on their adventures. If you like InuYasha and you like RPGs, this is a great game to play. HOWEVER, sometime into the game you reach a point where they stop telling you where to go and you have to figure it out on your own. After completing a quest at a place called Mt. Habaki where you have to find a God statue, when I left the area there was no one telling me where to go and what to do next. The whole map of the land is very big, and if you don't have any idea where to go next, you can feel pretty lost. (Couple that with the fact that when you're in the wilderness you tend to find yourself in constant battles with enemies that keep appearing.) It turns out the next place you need to go is the home of Jinenji and his mom (characters who appeared in the INUYASHA anime). The only way I found this out was by consulting www.gamefaqs.com. But you shouldn't have to do that; the game itself should give you an idea of where to go and what to do next, instead of forcing you to spend long periods of time wandering aimlessly from random place to random place, or trying to find help online. Anway, it's a great game, but it's way too hard to finish without help from gamefaqs.

Good grafics and story line. the game itself is abit confusing and if you get lost and go back to talk to the person that sent you on a mission or something they wont repeat where to go or what to do, it's confusing. over all pretty good

I was exited to play this game, being and Inuyasha fan and all, so I had to get this game. So I get the game, put it into my DS and start it up. It starts off easy enough, but as you get further into the game...which isnt too far I guess...and your left stumped on where to go next! The game is nicely done in the art department and fighting is easy, but knowing where your suppose to go next is not easy! They tell you the name of the village, but not where it could possibly be located so it was pretty frustrating to play, after a while.
If your a die hard fan who loves Inuyasha and has to own everything ever made for Inuyasha, then by all means buy the game, but if your not in the mood to be lost all or half the time its probably best to just skip this game. Rent it if you can, that's all I'm sayn'.

I had this package sent to my daughter, she said it came well wrapped and it is a great game for her 12 year old daughter. It was a Christmas present for our granddaughter.

Ok, this type of game is geared for and will most likely be bought by fans of the Inuyasha anime and/or manga. I am a big fan of Inuyasha, having several Inuyasha comics and the Season 3 DVD set. As much as I wanted to like this game, I couldn't get past its many flaws.
First off, the graphics... I rate the graphics 3/5. The graphics are about as good as anything you will find on the Game Boy Advance, the game uses big sprites instead of polygons. The graphics are colorful, to the game's credit. The gameplay is quite annoying, there is an extremely high encounter rate, when you enter the wild you will barely be able to walk two steps without encountering a random battle. The game would have been much more fun if they used some of the characters from the TV shows' voices. As far as actual battle goes, I have only the first impressions because I soon grew exasperated with this game. Basically they give you are a little girl and you get 2 robots to do all the attacking and fighting with, if you try to run away your two robots will run away first, leaving the girl by herself. The girl will be too slow to run away and she will be killed: game over... P.S. Your first encounter with any of the Inuyasha characters, besides Kagome is when you meet Sango and Miroku in the wild. They realize you are from the future, but then they leave and leave you out to die. I was never able to find them after that...
