A Tale of 2 Brothers, December 4, 2005
This review is from: Inuyasha: Swords of an Honorable Ruler Original Soundtrack [Audio CD] (Audio CD)
As I'm sure you know, this CD is the soundtrack to the 3rd Inuyasha movie: Swords of an Honorable Ruler (also known as Swords of World Conquest). If you have been watching Inuyasha for a few years now as I have, you may notice that the music in the movies isn't completely different from that in the series. Each movie seems to have a new theme that is heard only in that movie. That theme is then incorporated into the songs we have heard before, such as a battle theme for example. (I noticed this when I listened to the soundtrack for the 1st Inuyasha movie.) This CD does that as well. There are some new tracks that are played for the enemy and for Sesshomaru and Inuyasha's father. Then there are the classics- the song played when Inuyasha is with his companions, a song played only when Inuyasha is the focus, Miroku's wind tunnel, etc. I enjoyed the CD and I'm sure other Inuyasha fans will, too.
There are 35 Tracks on this CD:
1. Sesshomaru and Father
2. To Izayoi's Side
3. Last Moments
4. Main Title
5. Sit Boy!
6. Memory of Mother
7. Sounga the Demon Sword
8. Calamity of Sounga
9. Invasion
10. Discord
11. To Each His Own
12. Black Demon Revived
13. Inuyasha vs. Sesshomaru 1
14. Struggle
15. Kagome's Cry
16. Swords of the Father
17. Resurrected for Revenge
18. Broken Beads
19. Secret of Sounga
20. Cruel Murder
21. Inuyasha vs. Sesshomaru 2
22. Adoration of Father
23. Army of Undead
24. Enemy Force Advances
25. Kagome and Rin Captured
26. Imminent Danger
27. Invaluable Comrades
28. Wind Tunnel and Death
29. The Bond
30. Someone to Protect
31. Love of Izayoi
32. The Path to the Netherworld

Walking the dog, February 22, 2006
This review is from: Inuyasha: Swords of an Honorable Ruler Original Soundtrack [Audio CD] (Audio CD)
I wish that I could give this more stars. Listening to this CD makes me realize how important the music of Inuyasha is in my enjoyment of the series and movies. This is a true soundtrack - themes and incidental music, but no Japanese pop songs. The beautiful main Inuyasha theme is woven throughout, sometimes played by braying trumpets, sometimes by a lone eldritch flute. Nobody could listen to this and not find themselves transported from the world of the mundane to another time and place where the supernatural is a natural part of everyday life.
