2.0 out of 5 stars Useful, but not as advertised, May 26, 2009

We had purchased this particular table, because it was advertised to come DOWN to a certain height, the only one we could find online that would go this low (my bed is lower than standard). I was planning to use it while recovering from major surgery.

Unfortunately, once it arrived, we found that the lowest setting was still several inches higher than their description had claimed, which made it too high and too uncomfortable for me to use with my laptop, or anything else for that matter, by my bed.

As it turned out, I spent the next 2 months on the recliner in the living room anyway instead of my bed. The table is still too high to be truly comfortable, but it is usable.

It *IS* a sturdy table, rolls easily, and it's fairly easy to adjust the tilt. I just wish they had been more careful in their measurements...

I wanted to leave a review on this table so others would know the quality etc. I am VERY pleased with the quality of the table it is very solid and built just like the ones in the hospital meant to be used every day. I suffered a spinal injury in 2006 and still suffer from a lot of pain so I am in bed a lot reading and studying and this table is just right! I am also a college student and have very heavy text books and this table has no trouble holding them and more. Very solid, and well built. Especially after buying two others on here meant for laptops and having to give them away as I hated them after a very short time of use and even though they were solid wood felt they where cheaply made. I spent hundreds looking for the right one and finally found it! Not to mention the seller shipped very fast and well packed! Go ahead try it you will not be unhappy..other sites sell this table for up to $ 215.00!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice overbed table, December 27, 2009

I've been using this table for about a month following a surgery. It's very, very sturdy and the height is easy to adjust. It has an internal spring that counteracts the weight of the table so it takes very little force to raise or lower it. I also like the tilt feature that lets me tilt my laptop so I can type more easily on it. I have a fairly monstrous 17" laptop that weighs close to 10 lbs and the table accomodates it and supports it without any trouble. One last feature that I like is the lip around the edge. It does great things to help keep stuff from falling off. Overall, I don't have any complaints about this table - it's been great.

FYI, assembly is as simple as three bolts and one nut. It comes with an allen wrench for one of the bolts and the only other tool you need is a mediumish crescent wrench.

5.0 out of 5 stars Table is a Good Table, but the diminsions are off, November 1, 2010
By
This review is from: Invacare Tilt-Top Overbed Table (Health and Beauty)
I had my leg amputated several months ago and have the need to prop my other leg up twice a day. I needed a bed table to use my laptop computer on while in bed with my leg propped up. I needed the table top to tilt the keyboard for comfort, and at the same time, giving my propped up leg more clearance. I read the reviews of several tables Amazon had for sale and ordered this table.

The table arrived in two days, whereupon I removed the parts from the box and spread them out on the coffee table. Using the enclosed allen wrench and a small adjustable wrench, I had the table assembled in 18 minutes, while sitting in a wheelchair.

The description says the table adjusts up and down between: 25.75"-39", but my table adjusts from: 29"-41.5"
The description says the table top measures: 15"x30", but my table measures 14.75"x29.5" between the 3/32" tall, raised lip edge
The description says the table supports 50lbs, but my table has a sticker saying 25lbs max, but I have had 50lbs of barbell
weights in the middle of the table and the table still feels real solid while pushing down on it some. I feel that this table will easily handle 50lbs on it.
The description says the table weighs 28lbs and surprise, that is what my table weighs.

What the description doesn't say is that the molded edge around the table top is made of a hard rubber and I really like that. The table is a good looking solid table and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. It's a solid table that rolls easily on a short nap carpet, unless you lock the two lockable roller wheels. I really love this table and if I ever have the need for another table, I will be buying this same table again.Invacare Tilt-Top Overbed Table

3.0 out of 5 stars Deceiving Casters, December 21, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Invacare Tilt-Top Overbed Table (Health and Beauty)
The product photo shows the table with chrome metal casters and presumably rubber wheels. However, the table I received included cheesy, plastic caster/wheels, the kind that slide over hard surfaces rather than smoothly roll over them. (I uploaded a customer photo of the ones I received). I am very disappointed in this as I specifically chose this table over similar ones that accurately depict the cheap wheels that I received. I'm even more disappointed in the seller (Medical Department Stores) who didn't respond to my initial complaint, but then said they were sorry I didn't like the design, but I got what I ordered. I disagree. I ordered what was pictured, and that is not what I received.

Medical Department Stores apparently does not offer refunds; they offer store credit. For credit, one has to pay the original shipping cost, the return shipping cost, an 18% restocking fee, and the shipping of whatever is selected as a replacement. It's cheaper to keep the item and order the pictured wheels separately, such as: ER Wagner Haydock Light Duty Stem Swivel Caster 2 Inch Soft Rubber Wheel 75 lbs Load Capacity

So, buyer beware. Don't expect quality wheels with your purchase and be careful from whom you buy.

UPDATE (AUG 15, 2010): I noticed that the product photo changes as the product seller changes. The photo shown at the time that I'm writing this update appears accurate--it shows the cheesy plastic wheels. But I also noticed that other sellers who offer this table are doing so using the picture with quality wheels. Again, caveat emptor.

As part of my update I decided to add another star. Other than the casters, the table seems to be of good quality and has served me well over the past 8-months.

1.0 out of 5 stars Tilt-top table, not so much, January 19, 2008

This table does not live up to it's description. It will go up and down, but that's about it. If you need it to tilt, then I would suggest that you keep looking. When I took the table out of the box there were several loose pieces, which I discovered were the broken pieces that should have allowed the table to tilt. The seller did not respond to my e-mail regarding the defective table. Once I complained to Amazon, I received notice that a new one was on it's way with a contact name should I have any other difficulties. The second table arrived much like the first. The same hard plastic piece that allowed the table to tilt was broken. I tried e-mailing the contact name I was given, but like before no one responded. It wasn't until I put up a negative review about the seller that they tried to contact me. I received phone calls from the company trying to explain that they did not actually manufacture the item they were selling (as if that would excuse them from the responsibility of getting me an undamaged table) and because they were just having it dropped shipped from someone else, I should be more understanding. Amazon informed me that they would be refunding my purchase, ending the trying ordeal of the tilt-less table.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just what I needed, March 13, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Invacare Tilt-Top Overbed Table (Health and Beauty)
This thing was perfect for my needs.
It didnt take long to arrive and once it did I was able to put it together with ease...It comes half built...so less work to do.
I bought this so I could use my 15 laptop while laying on bed and it still has room left over for another 15" laptop side to side... I'ts very sturdy and it can be used for other things such as eating in bed or holding your tools while you work.
The only thing that is not as advertised is the wheels you see on the pic.
It can be tilted on either side and when is at about 45 degree angle it has a tilt lock that snaps on (for both sides)... no other locks for other angles available.
Well if you have any uestions let me know.
(excuse my typos...I'm tired)

Bought this for myself because my husband has cancer and after 2 surgerys I have to watch him all the time ..So when he is in bed I can catch up on bills and play on computer while he sleeps.
So have looked all over for one like this..and this is perfect, easy to put together, easy to lift the height and to tilt.
I am glad I have it and chose this one the others are to cheap.
I have carpel tunnel in both my hands and if I can put it together so can anyone..in any case this is awesome.

I have been using this table for one month and am extremely pleased with the product. It was very easy to assemble, took my husband approx 20 minutes, and it raises and lowers with ease. I use it primarily for laptop use while I'm in bed. I have a progressive form of MS and need something that will move about easily. This table does that and more. I have not used the tilt top as yet but it tilts with ease and will provide a nice resting place for a book when I'm reading. Overall this is a very good product at an excellent price and I recommend it to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Far Better Than Expected!, September 6, 2010

I'm a Nurse of 30 years so I was a little skeptical in purchasing this item for a family member but when I recieved it I was amazed at the excellent quality, sturdiness and functions!!! Also I Recieved this very fast. It took a minute or two to put together which was very easy but I do agree that a larger edge would come in handy for the tilt use. However I must say the tilt is a really nice "extra" to the traditional hospital bed table.
