Has anyone else read this?,

This review is from: The Invasion of the Blue Lights (Paperback)
I read this back in the 4th grade. I found it to be a creepy, orginal scifi thriller. The alien in this book is very chilling, and i enjoy the relationship between the three heros, which begins with two of them bullying the third and ends with them banding together to save each other's lives.

I read this book as an elementary student. I guess it impressed me since I still remember it. This book was a great example of sci-fi for kids. I really enjoyed it! I am purchasing it now for my own classroom collection and for my daughter.

One of the first books I ever read and now, some 28 years later, I feel compelled to buy it and read it again. That creepy little alien is hard to forget. Get this one for your kids.

I was 10 years old when this book was first released. By the time I entered middle school I had long lost track of how many times I had read the book cover to cover.
I don't remember what exactly it was that got me thinking about this book, but I decided that I had to find a copy of it for my 12 year old son. Lo and behold, Amazon.com comes to the rescue yet again. I read the entire book in about 45 minutes or so once I got it in the mail. All of the imagery that I had in my mind as a child came flooding back exactly as it did 29 years ago. Now my son is reading the same book and getting the same enjoyment out of it that I did when I was his age. Thats a sign of a great book.

What a long journey it has been since I read this in the 3rd grade. This is what sparked my love of reading. I still have it in a protected cover and I plan on keeping it forever. My copy looks just like that picture. Faded, blue and worn. Perfect.

GREAT SCI-FI FOR KIDS,

I read this book in middle school. I hated reading and probably only read about 4 books in all my 12 years of schooling and this was one of them. I am now 26 and still recommending this book.

I read this book when I was in 6th Grade and I still remember it - it obviously made an impression. I even wrote a book report on it! The style of writing is appealing, and this book definitely cannot bore anyone. Adults and kids will enjoy it.

It was about 20 years ago in my grade school classroom when Ruth Glick first captured my imagination with her blend of science fiction, action and adventure. Invasion of the Blue Lights left a lasting impression, so much so that my film production company has optioned the literary rights to adapt the book into a film. We just completed the screenplay and are currently working on conceptual art for the creatures, their technology and the world they come from. I'm excited and humbled by the opportunity to breath a new life into the wonderful characters and story Ruth established for us in 1982.

I remember reading this book in Elementary School, 4th grade maybe. It really sparked my love of reading and sci-fi, something that I still love to this day. Like several other people on here, I'm not sure what sparked my memory of the book. After searching and posting a basic plot description online, a friend was able to find the book I was trying to remember (I couldn't remember the author or title, but I remembered it had to do with Blue Lights.).
I just ordered this book and can't wait to re-read it. I highly recommend this to anyone who has children who don't like reading or have trouble finding books they enjoy, because it was this book that got me started enjoying to read. |
