Dr. Maglio hits the nail on the head in this book, and it's refreshing to see some common sense for a change in raising our kids. Thanks to so called experts like Dr. Spock, our kids are out of control in a world of permissive parenting and Dr. Maglio is leading the front against these silly ideologies. In his book, he describes these ideologies and how and when they came into existence. He argues this is a culture war based on Marxist ideals, and is threatening the very fabric of the family unit, and American way. The book is very easy to read and was a real eye opener for me. I look forward to more books in the future from Dr. Maglio.

Starts out really, really good but kind of bogs down after first couple of chapters. Still, the first chapters spell out the problem very well

I agree with the majority of Dr. Maglio's views, especially those that are based on plain, old-fashioned common sense. Most of what he teaches at his school is about human nature, and the fact that children are little humans who have flaws, just as their parents do. It is our job, as parents, to make sure that we raise our children to be respectful, caring, and responsible adults. Many parents have abandoned this important premise, and someone openly pointing this out as a major problem is long overdue. I for one am glad he did it.
For those who don't know, Wider Horizons, which is the school he founded, is a wonderful place that welcomes people from all over the world, embracing differences, not shunning them. I know this first hand.
As far as his ability as a writer goes, well, let me just say that he is not a bad writer at all, but he is much more impressive live, than on paper. I read the book and received, loud and clear, the message that he was trying to send. I feel sure that his over zealous tone, repetition in some areas, and word choices, are mainly due to his honest belief that he is fighting a culture war. He is indeed a cultural warrior, and I respect him immensely for having the courage for giving his all for what he believes.

I mean, blaming Marxists is so passe. In modern discourse "Marxists" may as well be "Martians." An absurd, non-existant bogeyman if I ever heard of one. No, today it is not Marxists that threaten to shred the moral fabric of society with their gibberish about "equality" and "justice," it's those pesky terrorists!

So Dr. Maglio, in order to bring your book up to date, and henceforth thrust it into that elusive realm of relevance, I offer you four simple steps:

1. Find & Replace
2. Marxists = Evil Muslims
3. Fear! Fear! Fear!
4. Profit

Dr. Maglio identifies a cultural movement that has undermined the tried and true parenting that has been used for centuries. This movement has undermined all the institutions on which our children depend. These institutions are Community, School, Marriage, Parenting, and Family. By subverting these institutions, they have managed to create a generation of weak dependent individuals who must look to the government for guidance and assistance.

Dr. Maglio's message is not one of despair. He provides a road map to return to the traditional values on which America was built and became the greatest country in the world.

I liked the book because it is in line with my values and it also has helped me make a huge decision about my marriage.

Truly a stunning diatribe: blame society's ills on (drumroll please) . . . Marxists! I was shocked, yes shocked to learn that every prominent liberal/progressive figure in American history is an atheist commie!

Tragically, this has resulted in a generation of godless cretins who have become amoral, drug sucking, hedonists intent on seizing the means of production for the proletariats. Oh yeah, and they're homosexual too. They are stealing the moral foundation of the nation these smug pinko homo elitists who will never get a book plugged on Fox News.

Dr. Magio seems to believe that once we flush these "smuggers" out of our midsts, then American values like freedom of religion, freedom of expression, and freedom from pinko commie freaks (who are oh so elite) will again flourish. Heil America!
