5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, March 2, 2002
By
This review is from: Invasion From Within (Audio CD)
I had never heard of Tsunami Bomb until a friend of mine commented on how I should check them out. Downloaded the songs on this album...and LOVED THEM!
"The Invasion from Within" should probably actually be called "Enemy Inside of Me" cuz they say that a lot, but it has a nice creepy intro and shows off Agent M's amazing vocals. Right on.
"No One's Looking" has amazing guitar parts. Mike, you are so talented. It is also really upbeat and peppy, and completely catchy. You can hear Dominic's bass pounding away in the background, and this is one of Gabe's best drum parts.
"No Good Very Bad Day" has a great bass intro. Another upbeat, pep-filled song...great lyrics.
"Marionette" is very catchy...though I don't like it much. The melody rocks, but it is just a little random. It's cool, though.
"Lemonade"...the catchiest guitar part I've heard since "Let Me Blow Ya Mind". Some semi-bad words (nothing you wouldn't see on TV, though), but it's confrontational. I love this song. The melody is awesome. Lots of fun.
"...Not Forever" is EASILY THE BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM! Soooo depressing though. Agent M is one of the best singers I've ever heard. This song brings out her voice nicely. I also love the guitar intro. Depressing lyrics...but I could (and have) listen to this song five times straight...it's that good.
It's too bad that their older albums are out of print...I'd love to hear them.

5.0 out of 5 stars It really is the bomb, September 29, 2003

This review is from: Invasion From Within (Audio CD)
After listening to this Cd, I dont know how to describe it. Its just that good. Agent M has one of the best voices I have ever heard(male or female). Everything on this disc is great. The guitar, vocals, and over all feel of the Cd makes it one of my favorites. Although it is only a 6, I can easily listen to all of them over and over and never get tired of them. Any fan of female fronted bands or just plain great punk bands will enjoy Tsunami Bomb's "The Invasion From Within".

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect, June 14, 2003
This review is from: Invasion From Within (Audio CD)
Tsunami Bomb has written possibly some of the best songs that real punk music has ever seen. From their earlier days, the songs put together on The Invasion From Within are all very catchy and original. It is impossible to choose favorites from this album because theyre all so freaking good. Buy this if you like anything from tsunami bomb and they will be your favorite band.

Not only is it the beat but it is also the lyrics that makes this such a great cd and Tsunami Bomb such a great band. I mean come on where are you going to find something better that "count on nobody and no one will let you down"? and the opening on The Invasion From Within? its the best I've heard yet.Don't even think twice about having to buy this cd just buy it. It's worth the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Revived my musical tastes, January 8, 2003

This band, along with Belvedere, Daycare Swindlers, White Stripes, Hopesfall, Descendents, Queen Adreena and Hopesfall reawakened my love for music. I have come full circle back to the punk I grew up on. These guys made me want to go and re-purchase the Stooges and Dead Kennedys. Tsunami Bombs sound is tactile. You can wrap yourself in the guitar riffs and feel every punch of the lead singer. If you like punk that is a little bit pop (the kind of pop that was before "pop" became a dirty word), you'll like this and the other Tsunami Bomb albums.

5.0 out of 5 stars You SOOOOO need this!, September 24, 2002

Yes, the rumours you may have heard are trooo! Agent M DOES have the most adorable voice in all of punkiedom! And this liddle albumette RoCkS!! It's only 15 minutes though - *Wail*, *Sob*, and *Sniff*. Do NOT attempt being [angry] without the song Lemonade on your CD player - otherwise you may never laugh again. And that kinda goes for "...not forever" too. "Invasion from within" is sheer genius too... beautifully spooky pipe organ intro, and then punchy punk! The rest of the songs [aren't bad] either. But there's at least 3 addictive masterpieces. Oh shlobber, you must, must, must have this. Beg, steal, borrow or buy - NOW!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love Tsunami Bomb!!, May 29, 2001
This review is from: Invasion From Within (Audio CD)
This is such a great CD! Anyone who says female singers don't have the same intensity as men have something coming to them with this band. Although this album only has 6 songs, which is a downside, what you pay is well worth it. It contains energetic beats, as in No Good Very Bad Day, and hardcore punk influences in almost all of the songs. You need this.... I mean it... seriously go get it... NOW!

5.0 out of 5 stars Where it all started (for me, anyway)..., October 3, 2009
This review is from: Invasion From Within (Audio CD)
Invasion From Within (the title track) was actually the very first TB song I'd ever heard. It was in a trailer for a game I liked (Disgaea). Very badass vid. And also a very badass song. I came to know that this song in particular is incomparable to all other TB songs. Nothing else they've done sounds anything like it, and for some people that'll be a turn off, but.. I've since gotten hold of every single song of theirs I can find and even though each album is different, TB is an extremely consistent and tight musical act.
On this particular album, there's only one song I don't particularly care for and that's Marionette. Everything else is pretty strong. I'm pretty sure I have a different version of Lemonade, but not too different. It took a while to grow on me but all-in-all is a pretty awesome song.
In "No One's Looking", M's main influence really comes through, quite blatantly. Green Day were her idols, and her main reason for getting into music in the first place, and you can really hear that in this song.
"No Good Very Bad Day" is pretty similar, but it's fast-paced. At a perfect speed for some hard moshing.
Finally, "..Not Forever". God, this song blows me away. Musically it's very frantic and a bit more convoluted than the other stuff here, so alot of people might get mixed feelings on it. I think it's one of those songs where you either love it or hate it. Compared to everything else, it makes you feel a bit more "trapped in" and claustrophobic. But that's fitting, because if you read the lyrics, it's a very angry song, written from a very isolated point of view, stemming from a mood I'm sure we've all had at some point or another. It'll wrench your heart out, but it's good.
For those who want something with a little more to offer, get a copy of Definitive Act and Ultimate Escape. Also make sure to check out M's new band, The Action Design. If her vocals impressed you before, they will blow you away when you hear this new stuff.
