1.0 out of 5 stars illiterate book, September 21, 2006
By
This review is from: Inventing English: Imaginative Origins of Everyday Expressions (Paperback)
my first clue that it was illiterate

was the fact that,

on page 5,

it has 'curiouser' misspelled [twice] as 'curioser'.

supposed to be a quote from 'alice in wonderland'.

also misspells 'malapropism' as 'malaproprism'. p 199. italics.

plus about 90% of her words and phrases seem to

either come from 'alice', shakespeare, or cartoon character quotes.

give me a break.

wle.
