Ho-Hum. Yes, it has some standout tracks. However, I know I'm not the only one waiting for a CD with ALL of Mike Post's theme songs - the ORIGINAL versions too - from Rockford Files to Magnum PI to NYPD Blue and Law & Order with all of the other great themes from the 70s and 80s in between. Is this ever going to happen, I wonder! And, doesn't anyone remember his 45 from 1975 titled "Manhatten Spiritual"? What a great song that you can't find anywhere.

Being a fan of the show, I was pleased that this disk was released. Post says he was trying to capture the rythym of the City of New York and I believe he has done just that.

Originally from Australia, I took this disk with me to New York on a recent trip and listened to it as I walked through the streets, taking in the scenery to Post's rythmic beats and distinctive melodies, just like a long play of the show's opening sequence.

From the early seasons of the show, the tracks remind us of John Kelly and Andy Sipowicz showing us their NYC, their world glimpsed through a moving camera-eye, and the good and evil souls that frequented the interview room, where interogation, grace, justice, and the odd ear-clipping were handed out.

A top effort by Mike Post, whose talent in making music synonomous with a TV show is unparalleled. The Hill Street Blues Theme left you in no doubt as to what show you were about to watch. Now his theme for NYPD Blue prepares you for an hour of the rough and tumble of New York City citizens, emotions and justice.

Mike Post does an excellent job with this latest album. All themes are great reminders to shows that weren't ALL so great. NYPD theme was excellent. It's one of the rare easy listening CDs that do not put you to sleep. Hopefully, in the future, Post will release a complication of ALL his great compositions (like the Hunter themes, A-Team, Doogie Howser, Magnum P.I., and all the other hits we all remember!)
