Book Description

September 3, 2007
Robert Watson, an African American male, graduates from college in the early 1970s and discovers he is pursued by corporations to be the token black hire in their organizations. He rejects this, and pursues his dream of designing a computer by forming his own company. While wrestling with conflict with his father, romantic entanglements, and subtle racism, he creates a new industry. However, success is fleeting as he finds himself faced with the greed of high finance and the isolation of a black man at the pinnacle of high technology. He must determine if the dream is worth salvaging or whether the personal price of success is too great.

This book substantially adds to our national discussion about the relationship between corporate America and black Americans. --Amber Ellis, author of Running Mad
