Its wisdom I needed in my life, and I try very hard to go by Larry Burkett's principles. Especially being debt free, credit, mortgage. I review his book from time to time when I start to slip. I look forward to using his principles to be debt free especially

This review is from: Investing for the Future (Paperback)
This book is a bit dated (1997) for a book about investing, so I was going to get rid of it, but decided to skim it first. I ended up reading the whole thing. Burkett talks good sense: Invest in diversified mutual funds, your home, government bonds, but stay away from fly by night stuff, don't invest in gold, which rarely resells for more than what you paid for it, and don't invest in untested, risky private ventures, such as an invention that may end up tanking. You can invest in things like winter wheat and soybeans only if you are willing and able to take the loss if those crops don't do well that year. Solid advice from a man who is sorely missed.
