Editorial Reviews

From the Inside Flap

The days of renewable energy being a niche market are quickly coming to an end, and as the industry begins to establish itself as a dominant player in the world energy arena, it will also provide a catalyst for one of the greatest investment opportunities of the twenty-first century. But only those who recognize this reality and act on it will profit from the revolution that is already under way.

Author Jeff Siegel is the Managing Editor at Green Chip Stocks—an investment advisory service that focuses on equities in the renewable energy market—and over the course of his career, he's guided thousands of Green Chip investors down the path to profits. Now, with the help of energy experts Chris Nelder and Nick Hodge, Siegel shows you how to position your portfolio to achieve long-term investment success in this field.

Divided into three comprehensive parts, Investing in Renewable Energy puts the depletion of finite resources such as oil, natural gas, and coal in perspective, and discusses how renewable energy solutions—from solar and wind to geothermal and biofuels—will usher in a new generation of wealth for investors and a new way of life for everyone. Throughout the book, Siegel and company explore various renewable energy technologies that are at the forefront of transitioning our energy economy, and show you how to profit from next-generation renewable energy projects and companies that are poised to take over where fossil fuels will leave off.

Some of the topics touched on include:

  • Why geothermal power plants that haven't even been built yet could prove to be one of the most profitable plays in the renewable energy industry

  • What a twenty-five percent annual growth rate in wind—the fastest growing of all renewable resources—means to the Green Chip investor

  • Where dam-less hydropower systems that generate electricity will make the most difference

  • When Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles that don't require a single drop of gasoline or diesel may come online

  • How a new commodities market that delivers profits by trading CO2 can add even more value to renewable energy stocks

Whether you believe it or not, the age of conventional fossil fuels is quickly coming to an end. And this isn't just an opinion shared by optimists and environmentalists. The fact is some of the world's largest corporations and institutional investment banks, as well as local businesses and savvy individuals, are investing in and profiting from renewable energy right now. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity. Get on board now and profit from the innovations that will power our future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book January 7, 2009
Format:Hardcover
This book offers more than just opinions about renewable energy. It contains a lot of research on what has happened already, and some insight as to what may lie ahead. Not only does the book explain the major sources of renewable energy, it also details who the players are (both the companies and the countries) that are involved in pushing these ideas forward. The books aim of course is to show an individual how and where to invest to capitalize in the next age of energy, and I believe it delivers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Investing in Renewable Energy 101 November 8, 2009
Format:Hardcover
This book provides the excellent background knowledge for investing in renewable energy and also provides the reference and even involved companies. But the major draw back is missing financial analysis of involved companies. So overall it is rather a 101 book. You must do further research by yourself to make money in renewable energy area though it's hot.

5.0 out of 5 stars A complete study of all energy sources February 16, 2010
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
A marvelous insight to the life cycle of every energy source. The fact that we are runing out of conservative fuels and time is running out before the coming catastrophy hits is well displayed wih corroborable references. There is no other way to address the energy needs for the present generation and the following. I am very glad for purchasing a copy of this book for my loved ones.
