2.0 out of 5 stars Ok.......but doesn't offer instruction, May 18, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Investing by the Stars (Hardcover)
This book consists mainly of the author waxing philosophical about the market and about the increasing use of astrology by investors. He also spends pages gloating about his own accurate predictions. He gives examples of astrology relating to market events, and occasionally you can extract some useful general knowledge from those examples. He does not really offer anything in this book that will help to develop skill with market astrology. He gives no direct instruction. I would like to find a book on market astrology that takes an approach similar to Georgia Stathis' "Business Astrology 101". This book just isn't it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lacking detailed information, August 17, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Investing by the Stars (Hardcover)
This book was long on "author claims" but very little specific information was discussed on "how" the claims/forecasts were arrived at. As a result, it would likely disappoint novice and accomplished astrologers.

On the other hand, the author does have a "nice writing style" and the topics discussed could be informative reading for the "Wall Street type" as it provides a good overview of the possibilities.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Importance of Timing, October 16, 2008
This review is from: Investing by the Stars (Hardcover)
In this book one can learn the importance of timing in making financial and business decisions. It is written by an accomplished astrologer who established his reputation by predicting in 1988 the crash of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. He did this by erecting a horoscope for the birth of the country of Japan and that of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Mr. Weingarten has also included in his book articles written by other astrologers who impress us with similar forecast abilities.

INVESTING BY THE STARS is written for the professional astrologer who has some basic knowledge of financial matters. The author stresses also the importance of understanding the investor's natal chart and accessing his "comfort level" as part of the counseling process.

The principles in this book make for impressing reading. I would highly recommend it to the advanced astrologer who would like to achieve success in investment counseling.
