Investment Casting Handbook 1997,
By uros ogrinc (Ljubljana, Slovenia Slovenia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Investment Casting Handbook 1997 (Hardcover)
There is not a lot of books in the field of Investment casting but as I know it is one of the best. There is a large amount of examples with quality photos and good explanation of advantages of investment casting in comparison to other production process. A very good chapter is " Alloy Selection for Investment Casting" where you can find data for materials from aluminum and magnesium alloys, steels to titanium and alloys for vacuum investment casting. In chapter " Quality evaluation, inspection and control " you can find information which is more or less same for all casting process. But unfortunately there is only 5-10 pages written about process from assemble patterns into clusters, dipping in refractory and stucco to dewaxing. Also you can't find any information about equipment for investment casting. It is written in preface of this book that its main purpose is to provide introduction to the investment casting process and its capabilities so I think that title of this book should be: General Handbook of Investment Casting .
