Book Purchase
This seller surpassed my expectations greatly. I purchased this book online, two days later it was in house. I could not ask for better service.

Just not that good
This book has promise. The binding is sturdy. The paper used was of a good quality. But the content... oh my the content. Though there are no glaring errors (i.e. 2+2=3), the organization of the book is poor and several definitions leave much to be desired. EVEN THE CD THAT COMES WITH THE BOOK WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY. EVEN THE CD THAT COMES WITH THE BOOK WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY. After trying to install the Ibbotson software on three separate machines, I assumed it was the CD. Upon obtaining a replacement CD and obtaining the same results I concluded the software just didn't work. One positive feature of this book (The reason why it receive 2 stars instead of 1) is its ample use of tables and figures comparing world markets, commodities and other financial instruments. Don't buy this book to prepare for the CFA exam or as a desk reference. If you must buy this book for class, consider getting a Barons finance review book. |
