This review is from: The investor's guide to futures money management (Paperback)
This book is for people looking to give their money to someone else to manage. It offers tips to evaluating a Money Managers performance.
"Past results are not indicative of future performance." That phrase is required by the NFA and people blow it off. If you speculate long enough you will discover that the statement is true. The author gives good food for thought to evaluating a futures money manager. However, before sending funds make sure it's money you can lose and not paralyze your speculative or investment activities. LTCM, Tiger Financial, Amaranth, etc. All run by human beings...who can make devastating mistakes despite their immaculate performance history. The investors who participated in these funds during their massive drawdown and understood this point merely had a change in their allocation profitability table. The fully invested investors, expecting nothing but past performance or better, went out of business with their money managers. |
