Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
Coming out of the box, this Invicta Men's Russian Diver Watch leaves quite an impression. With its canteen cap styling, 52mm (a little over 2") stainless steel casing, and large face, this watch is not going to be overlooked. Weighing in at 4 ounces its not for the wimpy wrists. I own several large watches including two other Invicta models, so the weight is not an issue for me.

Initially I wasn't to sure about the blue face, but it grows on you. Besides the size, the number one thing that sold me on this watch is the styling. Its also luminous. A green glow highlights the hands, outer ring, and to some degree the numbers. In daylight or after dark, this watch stands out. This model also sports a second hand.

Encased in this stealthy timepiece is Swiss movement. The side edging offers a solid refined finish. The rubber strap's eye catching roller/barrel inserts are a nice addition. I like the feel of the band. Even though this watch is advertised as water resistant up to the depth of 330 feet, its not a serious tool for divers. For me personally, I find the only ping against this watch is that there is no date feature.

The Invicta 1434 Russian Divers Watch come nicely packaged and includes a one year manufacturer's warranty, a five year extended warranty application and product ID card. Florida based Invicta sports a very upscale website with customer support numbers and email links. A repair pricing chart and shipping charges are also posted.

Undoubtedly, big watches aren't for everyone. For me personally, I like the feel and balance of larger watches. Irregardless, the Invicta 1434 Russian Dive Watch brings it home nicely. Even without the date box this watch is a keeper.

After Christmas I decided I would treat myself to a new watch. I've had an automatic Invicta for 6+ years which still works perfectly to this day. I wanted something a little bigger and more colorful.

As everyone says, this thing is huge, people WILL notice it. It's thick and heavy, quality built. The colors on it make for a great contrast, dark metallic blue, light green and shiny metallic case bordered by the black rubber really grabs everyone's attention. The watch is very accurate and easy to set.

It's fun to tell people that ask about it's size that it's a diver watch, and intended to be big and easy to read while diving in low light or murky water.

The only issue is when I decide to wear my old Invicta, it seems REALLY small now!

Fantastic watch by Invicta. This one, as all other previous Russian Divers purchased, looks terrific and keeps time accurately. Definite quality.

I am finding these Invicta watches everywhere lately including my local jewelry store, Ross Dress for Less, and Sam's Club. I really like this one because it keeps things simple and straightforward with the stainless steel back and accents and black rubber strap. Yes, it's BIG, honkin' big! It's also in style with some celebs and Arnold Schwarzenegger. I love the way they look on big arms/wrists, but if you are on the smaller side it will look silly. As a dive watch, these are great no matter what your size is. My husband and son used these watches on a dive and they could EASILY read the dial, that is what these are made for! If you choose to wear this out of the water, that's your decision, but as a dive watch it's affordable and easy to read.

If you read the specifications for Invicta's MEN'S 1434 RUSSIAN DIVER WATCH you certainly know that this is a big and beefy timepiece. This watch does look impressive if you have a larger than normal upper-body, but if you are slim, it can look odd. The Diver is well made and expensive looking as well as keeping correct time. My only compliant is that the watch's stem housing extends so far from the casing that every time I flex my wrist (as in opening a car door) it jabs into the back of my hand. Because of its looks and quality I'm willing to live with this minor annoyance but it might be a deal-breaker for you.

The Invicta Men's Russian Diver's watch is a big, solid, well made watch backed by a very good warranty. It is a nice looking watch with large, easy to read numbers and luminous hands (important in a diving watch). The feature which I find most attractive is that is it not merely "water-resistant" but water proof, and to a greater depth than most. For me this is an important feature, as I live essentially in the rain forest, on the windward side of Oahu, where it rains more often than not and has humidity close to 100% the rest of the time. It is an environment which is not good for anything mechanical or electronic if it is not sealed. At this point I have a fair bit of experience with the brand, as everyone in my family has one. We purchased the women's automatic four our daughter and my husband and son each have the men's (all divers). Myself, I prefer a slimmer profile, lighter watch. Note, this is ENORMOUS, the largest watch I have ever seen). All that said, we have not had problems with any of them despite the fact that my husband goes out for cardio walks rain or shine (and it does rain.... a lot!)

The watch is well constructed and made from high quality materials: a Swiss movement, mineral quartz crystal and sealed stainless steel case. Even the rubber band is more substantial and feels nicer than most.

I gave the watch 4 stars rather than 5 because, as I noted, I prefer a slimmer profile. However Amazon details the dimensions. If you like big chunky watches, then for you this would be an asset rather than a liability. I also prefer the automatic movement, particularly in a divers watch (or any sealed water-proof watch). Usually changing the battery compromises the water-proof quality (most manufacturers state such). When you purchase through Amazon a card is included to upgrade to platinum service and/ or extend the warranty. Invicta recommends returning the watch to them to have the battery changed (or for any other required service). None of the watches we have has required service, or a new battery yet (the automatic being the oldest, but one which does not require a battery). It is possible that Invicta services them in a way which does not make them less water-proof. They do state that they test every watch thoroughly for 3 weeks before returning it, so I would imagine that is part of the testing. I may well not know for several years (depending on battery life) but thus far all are performing nicely and have not required service either for any kind of inherent problem or for problems caused by the environment (which is remarkable in and of itself).

I will add that it comes nicely packaged in a presentation box, making it emminently gift-worthy.

Bought this on 28th May, got it in mid June.

Big, beautiful and definitely an attention grabber. Many compliments.

However, mine came without the 'Water Resist' and '100m' as evidenced on the photo (on the dial, near 6 o'clock) used to advertised this watch.

I would choose to think that mine is the newer 'updated' version and not a K.O.

Amazon need to update their photos that are used for product advertising. It doesn't reflect the true product and to me, very misleading. I thought the printed 'Water Resist' and '100m' do make the watch more appealing as it fills up the empty space.

Regardless, it is still a stunningly beautiful watch but on a personal level, I would probably not buy it if I know that the 'Water Resist' and '100m' are not on the watch dial.

It should be a 5 star but i gave it a 4 as the feeling of being 'cheated' still lingers.*laughs*

Take nothing away from this watch though, it is heavy and seems to be very well made. Yet to go swimming, let alone diving, with this watch but the general consensus seems to be to leave this watch out of the water.

*** I added 4 photos of this gorgeous watch (of which mine happens to be without the '100m Water Resist' printed at the 6 0'clock).***
