Impressive Time Piece
on September 22, 2011
Coming out of the box, this Invicta Men's Russian Diver Watch leaves quite an impression. With its canteen cap styling, 52mm (a little over 2") stainless steel casing, and large face, this watch is not going to be overlooked. Weighing in at 4 ounces its not for the wimpy wrists. I own several large watches including two other Invicta models, so the weight is not an issue for me.
Initially I wasn't to sure about the blue face, but it grows on you. Besides the size, the number one thing that sold me on this watch is the styling. Its also luminous. A green glow highlights the hands, outer ring, and to some degree the numbers. In daylight or after dark, this watch stands out. This model also sports a second hand.
Encased in this stealthy timepiece is Swiss movement. The side edging offers a solid refined finish. The rubber strap's eye catching roller/barrel inserts are a nice addition. I like the feel of the band. Even though this watch is advertised as water resistant up to the depth of 330 feet, its not a serious tool for divers. For me personally, I find the only ping against this watch is that there is no date feature.
The Invicta 1434 Russian Divers Watch come nicely packaged and includes a one year manufacturer's warranty, a five year extended warranty application and product ID card. Florida based Invicta sports a very upscale website with customer support numbers and email links. A repair pricing chart and shipping charges are also posted.
Undoubtedly, big watches aren't for everyone. For me personally, I like the feel and balance of larger watches. Irregardless, the Invicta 1434 Russian Dive Watch brings it home nicely. Even without the date box this watch is a keeper.
