Beautiful... but initially stiff
on December 10, 2013
I have this watch in both the silver tone face and the rose tone face, but they were not purchased from Amazon. For those of us who don't particularly care for the metric system, this watch case measures 1-1/4" across, the watch face measures 1" across. The straps will comfortably accommodate wrist sizes from 6-1/2" to about 8". The buckle features the Invicta logo, and the band has 2 strap tender loops for the excess strap. This is especially nice if your wrist is on the smaller side. One is stationary; the other can be moved so the excess strap doesn't stick out. The Roman numerals are large enough to read easily in good lighting. The Invicta Angel looks elegant and feels good on the wrist as far as weight and size goes - it's substantial but not overly heavy. I really like the quick-pin strap set - you can change out these straps in less than a minute they are so easy to use!
I rated it 4/5 stars for 2 reasons: I actually DO love the watch, however, in low lighting the tone-on-tone watch face can be difficult to read (especially in the rose tone). Also the straps, while leather, appear cheap and are very stiff initially. I believe the leather is finished to some degree with a (waterproof?) coating and it makes them look like faux leather when in fact they are not. But once "broken-in", they begin to look and fit better. I just feel for Amazon's supposed *retail* price (which I believe is much too high for this watch), the straps should not require a breaking in period in order to look and feel good. For the *sale* price on Amazon, this is an amazing watch at the current price point.
