Invicta Men's 1514 I Force Collection Chronograph Strap Watch

My first impression was how much I liked the black and white detail of the dial but at the same time I realized the white tipped hands were a poor choice for this execution. I have often found in my experience that the pictures don't accurately portray the contrast of the hands, many times offering more contrast in person. But in this case the picture is accurate and properly displays the poor contrast of the white tipped hands against the white dial. This is not an at a glance watch which ironically considering this is supposed to be a pilot style design is supposed to be at a glance. With experience you find your eye drawn to the black of the hands to read the time.

Everything else about this watch I love! I really mean that, it has caused me to reconsider purchases in the future because of things about this watch that I really like that in the past would not be a selling point for me or even caused me not to consider a watch. First, typically I am not a fan of white dials and have dismissed possible purchases because of a white dial, but no more and am even now on the hunt for white dial watches. I can't explain it but the white dial just looks good on the wrist.

Second, this is the first watch that I have ever had that has the combination cloth upper and leather lower strap. I love this strap and will now look for watches with it and even buy some straps for my other watches. Third, this is my first lefty and in retrospect probably shouldn't be since I am right handed and like to wear my watches close to the hand. If you are right-handed you normally wear your watch on your left wrist which means the crown is aimed at the hand and if you like to wear your watches close to your hand the crown can often dig in but the lefty design of the watch means the crown is aimed up the arm and makes it perfect for those that like to wear their watch close to the hand.

A couple of other really nice things about this watch is the luminescence and the movement. All the hands except the big second hand have luminescence even the sub dial hands but the real star of the show here is the Arabic numerals all glow which makes for a great night shot. This makes a great movie watch.

The watch did not include any specific movement description but I believe it has a Seiko VD57, another great quartz chronograph movement. What makes this particular movement desirable is the second hand. Typically chronographs use a sub dial to display the constantly running second hand and the big second hand is the chronograph second hand. The VD57 has a constantly running big second hand and the sub dial at the 12 position is the chronograph second hand. Another thing about the watch is because it is a lefty the function pushers are reversed, now the start/stop is on the bottom and the reset is on the top. Always make sure you stop the chronograph before you push the reset button.

45mm case size that wears and looks bigger because of the small bezel and big crown. Very comfortable and looks great on my 6 1/2 inch wrist. I have mixed feelings about this I Force, the hands are almost a deal breaker but I love everything else about the watch, so much so that it has changed my opinion about a few things in watches. In the end I guess I would get the watch again so highly recommended with a caveat as long as you understand what you are getting with the poor contrast of the minute and hour hands.

Tastes vary, of course, (I've always thought the world would be rather dull if they didn't) but I'm going to have to come right out and say that this isn't the watch for me, nor is it one I would give as a gift.

Why?
- The white hands over the white background make it rather difficult to read. For many people, a quick glance isn't going to be sufficient with this one.
- Difficulty in reading is exacerbated by the fact that the face is quite cluttered.
- Luminescence is dim and only lasts about 1/2 hour.
- Watch band has a strong plastic-y odor that has only dissipated slightly in the several days since I took it out of the box and placed it in an open room where there would be a lot of air circulation.
- Watch is huge. With the casing, the watch is more than 1.75 inches in diameter and nearly .5 inches deep. I can only imagine this scale looking good on a man or woman with a fairly large frame. On my wrist, it simply looked clunky which cheapened the overall appearance of the piece.

Invicta may well make a quality product, but my disappointment with the size and appearance of this watch won't give me the chance to find that out for myself.

Note: Stems on this watch are on the left hand side, making this watch one that would traditionally be marketed to left-handed people.

For starters, this is the same model as the 1512, but with a white dial. I have to say, the white dial gives this watch an interesting look, so it can be used with business clothing with no problem. As with other Invicta watches I own, it draws a lot of attention and gets a lot of compliments, a co-worker even asked me where I got it so he could get one for himself.

It includes a stop watch function and can also be used as a tachymeter. Included in the box is a set of instructions on how to use all features, which I found a little cumbersome to figure out.

Now, there are two issues I found with this watch. I wear my watches on my right wrist, so the fact that the crowns to set it up are on the left side rather than the right, became an issue. The crowns are sized accordingly to the size of the watch, so activities such as driving, make this an uncomfortable watch to wear (I added a couple photos to the product page showing this)

The second problem I found is, as other reviewers have stated, the hands are white... on a white dial... it is not impossible to read but it is definitely not ideal.

As with the 1512, it is not as heavy as it looks and the band is quite comfortable.

I think this is the first Invicta I give only three stars because of this. It is not a bad watch at all, it looks great and well made as it should, if you like it and don't mind those two things I pointed out, you will not regret getting it.

I currently own more than a dozen Invicta watches. I've got Subaqua Noma IIIs, Lupahs, Ocean Ghosts and many traditional styes as well. This watch has become one of my favorites, not only for the look and build quality, but the feel is simply amazing. My Subaquas are beautiful, but I find the crown tends to dig into the back of my hand, not so with my two I Force watches, which are lefties. I worked a trade show last week for the music industry and received many compliments on my I Force 1512, which is the black version. I was also surprised to meet many show attendees who proudly wore their Invictas, too. I will continue to grow my Invicta collection. Thank you Ayal Lalo and all the fine folks at Invicta. I'm a fan for life!

I am very happy for my choice made'', the clock is very nice and I got a very good price and I was delivered in a very short time

First of all let me say that I love the look of the watch. It stands out and really catches the eye. Of course the next thing I noticed is that the face is huge! I expected the face to be large from the picture and because it's made for a man, but it was still larger than I expected. Also, the ends of the hands are white and that requires more effort on my part to tell the time. A quick glance just don't cut it with those white tipped ends over a white background. I haven't had the opportunity to test the water resistance yet, but we will be going snorkeling/diving on vacation and I definitely plan to test it out then. The cloth on the band was another surprise. I guess I just took it for granted that such a high quality time piece would have a leather band. There is leather underneath the cloth though. The design of the band and the clasp keep the watch firmly in place and that is a good thing. The cloth also looks nice. It isn't cheap looking at all. Overall, this is a very nice watch. Unfortunately, I wouldn't pay retail for it, but if you can get it on sale, it's certainly worth it.

First, I want to say that this watch is very impressive looking. It's face is HUGE! My husband is not really tall (about 5'9" and it looks a little too big on him IMO. Even though the face is large the smaller displays on the face may be hard to read)..it just seems kinda busy on the clock face. The band is okay looking even though I would have preferred the finish to have been leather also (the inside is leather). We didn't fix the date on it because my husband couldn't even see the small window on it so its a day behind. But overall its a nice watch especially if you're a big guy.

I really like the weight of this watch and it's pretty bulky, which I really like also. So far, it appears to be high quality and is a really nice looking watch. Overall, for the price, I am very happy with it.

My friends and family think I'm nuts because I have more than 25 watches. But I can't help it, I love them. Needless to say, but I am very particular about the watches I like. They must be "simple", easy to read, nice looking and accurate. .

This is my first Invicta watch. It is a quartz watch and after a week, it has lost only about 1 second. Not bad, good enough for me.

It's a very big faced watch and the face is a little cluttered (but not too bad for a tachymeter watch). I love the numbers. They are simple and elegant. The buttons are the easiest buttons to push on any watch I own. It's pretty impressive how smooth they are. Also, for a big watch, it is not that heavy. I have smaller faced watches that are heavier.

The other thing that really impressed me about the watch is the band. This could be the softest leather band I have and it conforms perfectly to my wrist.

The only nit I have with the watch is the date window. At first I didn't think it even had a date, but then I realized that the minute hand can cover it completely (near the 4).

I give this watch a 4.5 rating.
