This review is from: Invicta Men's 6026 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Two-Tone Stainless Steel Watch (Watch)
Ok...I was a professional diver in the military and have been wearing my mid 80's Seiko 7002 diver daily since i bought it new in 1988! Its beat up...but keeps ticking. a few months ago I decided to pick up an Invicta after watching the Shop NBC program a few times. The price was right, the automatic 7S26 movement a workhorse so figured what the heck...
Well...its a very good looking watch..heavy and seems from the outside to be well built and it keeps time just fine with a decent power reserve, but I have a couple issues. 1...the numerical plate on the bezel has come off twice in the last month and I have glued it back on twice. I called customer service today and after 20+ min on hold I was told its no trouble...just mail it back to the service dept and they will fix it under warrantee. but...a 2-8 week turn around. The guy was nice and accomodating...but 20+ min on hold and a possible 8 week wait and shipping on my nickel... So...mechanically..so far so good...seems well built, but the bezel problem is really unacceptable...its a pretty basic thing that shouldn't happen... time will tell if it holds up 5-10-10....still a very good looking watch!! Discovered another issue though and this one seals the deal...this watch does not have a screw down crown..... it uses a double gasket to seal it off..the problem is that the crown is pulled out by the contact with my wrist and the back of my hand and the time is changed without my realizing it rendering the watch all but useless. What good is a watch that cant be relied on to keep time?? So....on a 1-10 scale I give this a 2! 6-15-10 The second hand has now fallen off the watch.... Im so glad I never used this watch to dive with...the thought of putting my life in its hands is now scary. I called Invicta to discuss sending the watch back for warrantee work and here is the process..... I PAY TO SEND THE WATCH TO THEM AND FOR THE SHIPPING BACK.....mail it to them (on my nickle) along with a check for $28.50 for the return shipping and it will be fixed... So...I pay $50+ to have the watch repaired under warrantee...hmmm....I think not. I'll use the band for my seiko which hasn't failed in the 5 years I've owned it and use the invicta as a sinker on my next fishing trip! JUNK!

It is not a watch to buy for your enemy. Within 6 months of purchase the second hand broke off and within 13 months the minute hand broke off. Invicta is not a good product; it should be bought as a toy for kids.

Purchased this for Christmas gift for child who dives. Less than two weeks out of the box, the second hand falls off! I have to pay $30 and send at my expense back to these clowns for repair (paid $80 total for the watch). It's been with them for two months now with no way to check on it's status in any useful fashion.
These people build CRAP, market the daylights out of it, then make YOU pay for their so called warranty repair. I'm just glad my kid didn't get the chance to have it fail on him during a dive. Do yourself a favor and buy ANY other brand, this is nothing more than some Chuck-E-Cheese prize.

A nice elegant yet 'manly' watch. The watch is pretty heavy and gives a very rich feel. I felt it was a great buy, its worth the money. The steel and gold tone goes absolutely great with the black dial, making it a great choice for both casual and office wear.

This is a great looking and performing watch that keeps accurate time. It's a great value for the money, too. This is my second Invicta watch purchase. I am rough on watches, so it's nice to be able to replace my watch at an inexpensive price when I need to.

I'm an amateur watch collector and was interested in a watch with a Japanese movement. I was very pleased with the watch. It fits very well the case is the perfect size and though the movement isn't as good as a Swiss movement it is a great product for the price. I have no regrets buying the watch and plan to buy some more in other colors and would recommend it to everyone.

Nice watch - receive frequent compliments, it keeps good time and looks much more expensive than it cost!
A bit surprised that the crown does not screw in and i am wary about testing its 200-meter depth rating.

This watch is well worth $80.
When the watch arrived, it was nestled in a rich looking yellow velour box and carefully wrapped in plastic. The watch has a decent heft to it and once I got it completely free from its protective coating, I was pleasantly surprised at how the lustre of the gold (not overly shiny and cheap looking) juxtaposed nicely against the slightly matte stainless steel of the watch case and bracelet. The crystal is bright, and the underlying face, numerals and hands, all topped by the Invicta logo smile brilliantly at me every time I check my wrist. The double clasp closes with an assuring "click", and the etched logo adds to the class of the watch. I went about setting the watch that first and have since worn it almost daily at my office job. The watch gains about a minute a day, which is what my much more expensive Rolex does, but stops running after about 12 hours off my wrist. My Rolex goes about 36 hours. But the Invicta has held up to the "rigors" of everyday wear and still garners envious glances and comments, especially from those who don't know what I paid for it. I gave the watch four stars for a few reasons. First, the crown doesn't screw down, which makes me wonder how watertight the case really is. I wasn't planning to wear it diving (Invicta claims it can go 200 meters), but now I won't ever wear it while I'm washing the car. Also, there is only 'one stop' on the stem. Not sure if that's the correct terminology, but unlike my Rolex, which has two stops, you must pull the Invicta'a stem out and wind the hands around the dial two times (24 hours) to get the date to advance one number. On the Rolex, the first 'stop' allows you to wind through the dates -the hands don't move- and on the second stop, the date doesn't move and the hand positions change. Makes adjusting the date/time a whole lot easier. The third reason for the four star rating is because of the size of the Invicta's bracelet. I'm six feet tall, 180 lbs. Out of the box I was able to put the Invicta over my open hand with the clasp closed. A trip to the local mall's watch shop easily corrected that, but it cost me an additional $15 to have a few links removed. Last, I am reminded of an axiom that my mother imparted to me as a child: 'you get what you pay for.' The Invicta was cheap, there's no mincing words. So for that reason, I didn't have high expectations for a quality product when it arrived. I was pleasantly surprised like I said, but now, it remains to be seen how long the watch will last. Yes, it has a pretty generous warranty, but by the time you pay to ship it to Invicta and fork over the handling charge they require, you've spent just slightly half of what it would cost you to just buy a new 6026. So overall, worth $80. Looks and feels like my Rolex and keeps time just as accurately. You can buy 80 Invicta 6026s for what the Rolex is worth though. Also, I recommend you purchase the $8 resizing tool Amazon recommends when you buy the watch. It took the 16 year old at my local mall about six minutes to resize my watch, and she did it with a cell phone cradled on her shoulder! |
