This impressive timepiece also features a brushed and polished stainless steel case and a band that closes with a fold-over safety clasp. The stainless steel case provides an ideal foundation for this watch's rotating bezel with minute markers and the attractive dial. The dial has luminous hands and hour markers. There's also a magnified date window at the four o'clock position to help you keep tabs on your busy schedule. For added style, Invicta included a large crown on the right-hand side of the case. Other features include precise Japanese automatic movement, a durable flame-fusion crystal, and water resistance to 660 feet (200 meters).

Automatic Watches

Automatic watches do not operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of about 130 or more parts that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the movement of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the balance wheel. The balance wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Lengthening or shortening the balance spring makes the balance wheel go faster or slower to advance or retard the watch. The travel of the balance wheel from one extreme to the other and back again is called oscillation. Lastly, automatic movements come in different types, including movements that are Swiss-made, Japanese-made, and more.

Also referred to as self-winding, watches with automatic movements utilize kinetic energy, the swinging of your arm, to provide energy to an oscillating rotor to keep the watch ticking. They're considered more satisfying to watch collectors (horologists) because of the engineering artistry that goes into the hundreds of parts that make up the movement. If you do not wear an automatic watch consistently (for about 8 to 12 hours a day), you can keep the watch powered with a watch winder (a great gift for collectors).

This is a comfortable watch to wear because of its size and color. It is easy to read the time at a glance because the dial is not cluttered with subdials. The unidirectional bezel is very easy to turn without any breakin time. The bracelet is easy to adjust yourself because it has push pins and micro-adjustments in the diver's clasp. You can not wind the watch at the crown because of the movement, but if you wear it daily; this is not an issue. For an automatic movement, my watch keeps pretty good time. It has a flame-fusion crystal which will reduce scratches.

I bought this watch 3 months ago and I love it. It is my day to day watch and keeps almost perfect time. I get a lot of compliments on the watch and most people thing it is a Tag or Rolex. I have to it update by a minute or two every month which is no different then with a Tag or an ICW that I owned. I have 3 other watches that I wear and when I put this watch in the automatic winder it still keeps near perfect time. One thing, it is a big watch and heavy so you need to have the wrist and size to wear it. I swim almost everday and the watch holds up perfectly. Great watch for the money!!!!!
