3.0 out of 5 stars Great Looking Watch
Well I liked this watch so much I bought a second one.

Pros:
I received so many unsolicited comments about how nice this watch looked and was it a R..lex?! This happens a lot! Time and date are easy to set. Easily wound by unscrewing the crown or just shaking your wrist. The color is just as advertised. (Though depending on the light source it can...

I own and have seen/handled several expensive watches from $5k to $35$ in price. This one really does look like it belongs in that group based on just looking at it. The quality, packaging, etc is also reflective of a watch that costs a great deal more. The only real differences I see from the Rolexes and Omegas is the weight and feel of the watch when you handle it, and very minor workmanship touches that you have to closely inspect to see(you really have to be looking for them and inspect closely). And, of course for the price of this watch, if you are dissapointed by that, then you are probably going to be disappointed by any watch that doesn't come with a price tag in the thousands. If you are looking for an absolutely beatiful watch that is well made, looks like the expensive swiss made watches, and generally has the quality of a much more expensive watch, then you have found it. For the price they are selling these for, you absolutely cannot go wrong.

Well, less than a month after receiving this watch, I find that I have to edit the review. The watch stopped working. I mailed it back for a refund. I researched if Invicta had a problem with quality a little deeper and didn't find a huge number of complaints, but found enough to be of concern. I am still debating if I will just call this very bad luck and give Invicta another shot or not.

This review is from: Invicta Men's 8930 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch (Watch)
I purchased the 8920 blue faced Pro Diver watch 6 weeks ago and have been very pleased with it. It is my first Automatic watch and the idea of not having to have batteries replaced yearly was appealing. I mostly bought this watch for the looks. It is a beautiful watch and looks a lot like the much more expensive ones. The materials and construction appear to be quite good. This watch gains about 5 minutes a month which is within normal findings. I expect that to be closer to 2-3 minutes per month after more time goes on. I have received many compliments on how nice the watch looks. Two items to note: Obviously you must keep it wound by wearing it regularly or using a winder. I found a nice winder on Amazon for $39 which works great.

The second item of note is one that that I haven't seen in any review and that is the color of the bracelet. It is very nice, if you like the Rolex bracelet look (and I do), but... it has just a bit of a brassy color to it. It's not bad at all, but I would have preferred a less brassy color and more true gold look. Still, I would buy it again. I liked the Invicta so much that I subsequently bought the Stainless steel 8926-C Invicta and love that also. Two great watches for all occasions. When buying the Invicta from Amazon, you get the extended 5 year warranty for free, but you MUCH sign up for the warranty within 30 days of PURCHASE, not receipt of the watch.

Added April 29, 2010 I have now had this watch about 7 months and really like it. The longer I have it the more accurate it is. It gains about 3 minutes per month, no big deal. I still think the color has just a bit too much brass in it, but I am liking it more and have received compliments on the watch.

Update Dec. 2011 I have now had this watch 2 years and greatly enjoy wearing it. I have had no problems at all, it still gains 2-3 minutes a months, not a problem. I have the silver version of this watch which I wear almost every day and it's great. This gold one gets worn periodically on dressy occasions. When I pull it out, I just set the watch, shake a couple times it to get it wound a bit and it works well. Very nice watch.

Everything about this purchase and this watch has been beyond my expectations. Not only does this watch look and perform very well, the price was fantastic. I received immediate follow ups when I purchased and when it shipped. It was packaged very well and I'm actually going to purchase another watch as a gift for someone from this same Amazon vendor.

Movement is great; it keeps good time. Plating on bracelet not complete but you have to look real hard to tell. The bezel was stiff at first but remedied with use. Made a fellow watch collector and owner of a Rolex jealous.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Service, August 12, 2009

I bought this watch around 2000-01 and never had a problem with it. Looks and feels like a watch that should be much more expensive. Keeps good time. The reason for this review is to inform others of my experience with invicta customer service. Over the years I have requested and received a couple of replacement spring pins without any hassle. A while back a spring pin failed and the watch fell off my wrist and hit the concrete and quit working. Obviously a good shock. I recently sent it in to invicta explaining what had happened. Other than it not running, the watch did not show any signs of damage. Now I have read some reviews of invicta's customer service stating how terrible their service was. It's necessary to understand that not all people have the same experience. I sent my watch in with the 25 dollar money order for return shipping and then waited for someone to contact me with what the problem was and the charge to fix it. I just received the watch back. My watch came back in the same condition it was when I mailed it off with the exception that it now works.Whoo..Hooo!. There was no charge for whatever the repair was. This is a 9-10yr old watch which is no longer under warranty. The only thing Invicta could do better at in my opinion is communicate. In all my dealings with Invicta, I have never had any direct communications with an actual person. I have read that other's have, good and bad. Overall I am satisfied. I also have 3 other Invicta watches. No problems with those. Also, Invicta had my watch for 8 weeks. A substantial amount of time, I know , but I have other watches. If time is an issue this might be a problem.

Update.. March 2011

year and a half later after the fix. My invicta is still going strong. Still keeps great time. I don't wear it as much as I once did simply because I've got more watches now. It's still in the rotation but not worn as much. I like this model (pro diver w/automatic movement)so much that I just ordered another but with a leather band instead of the bracelet. You can't go wrong with this watch. Also bought my nephew his first auto. A pro diver of course.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shinnnnnyyyyyy!!!, September 15, 2010

I just received a pair of invicta 8930's today. They look AMAZING! Since I just now recently opened the package, I can't comment on the durability of the watches but they do look like they will hold up for quite awhile. One thing that was disappointing for me was that the wrist band did not come with solid end links, but I can't ask for much since I only paid 69.99 for each watch and I will probably end up putting a nato strap on both anyways. I was definitely surprised on how good they look, the case size isn't too small or overly large (40mm) and i think it doesn't feel too heavy on my wrist (I have small wrists by the way).

One thing I did notice however, was that one watch has a darker blue color than the other watch, one has a bigger cyclops (with larger magnification) and the glass looks different on both (one has a shinier look and the other looks more opaque but not opaque enough to not be able to see clearly through...I thought I ordered the same watch, but they look a little different from each other. It probably won't be noticeable from far away, but it is kind of annoying to me. I tested the illumination for the watches and it seems as though the LUME paint or whatever they used wasn't very good. It was bright for a few minutes then became rather dull, still legible but nothing to write home about.

Also, the bezel isn't that great to hold onto. I wish I chose a model with the coined edge, like what the rolexes have because my fingers tend to slide against the polished surface of the metal when I try to rotate the bezel.

Overall, I would highly recommend this watch. At 69.99 it is an absolute steal, but I wish that both of the watches that I received had the same blue on the dial and face. As I mentioned above, one watch is a brighter shade of blue and it looks really great in light. The other watch was also blue, but it is a darker shade of blue and looks almost black at some angles and this particular watch also had the smaller cyclops. Maybe I received two different years of the same model. Who knows? If both of these watches endure my punishment, I will definitely buy from invicta again and amazon. 1 Day shipping FTW! (ordered at 12pm & received at 12pm)

The blue dial is magnificent and gold band compliments the watch nicely. This is my favorite timepiece. Thanks, Invicta!

4.0 out of 5 stars One more good INVICTA, March 13, 2009
This review is from: Invicta Men's 8930 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch (Watch)
I like automatic mechanical watches. All Invicta's are very nice, but they run little bit too fast. I love the motion of a sweeping second's hand.
They look like real "Rolexes". Owning a real Rolex I can say they are really very well made, especially for the price you pay for these clones. Only downside you can not set them to a second like real Rolex or other quartz watches. If that doesn't bother you, this watch is for you.

This review is from: Invicta Men's 8930 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch (Watch)
I have had my 8930 for over a year and it has been the best watch I have ever owned. I am a part-time scuba instructor and have had this watch on in salt and fresh water down to 110 feet on day and night dives -- and it has performed flawlessly. I try to wind it every morning and it only gets off of the correct time if I forget the winding.

The watch frequently draws comments from friends and acquaintances. What more could you ask for in a watch at this price? If you are wondering whether it looks as good in person as it does in the listing, believe me, it does. If you are wondering if it can keep time, oh yes! If you want to know whether you can get it wet, you betcha in deep and cold where it still works as advertised (and glows well in the dark).

I'm ready to buy another just as insurance against loss. I don't think you can go wrong with this watch.
