4.0 out of 5 stars Solid watch; a little flashier than the picture indicates
I was a little surprised at how shiny and "flashy" this watch is. The picture made the blue face and bezel look a little more subdued; however, they are a bright, shiny blue that almost appears to have a purple tint, at times. Also, while the outer edges of the band are brushed steel, the center of the band is highly polished, and the crystal is highly reflective. It...

This review is from: Invicta Men's 9308 Pro Diver Collection Stainless Steel Watch (Watch)
I have read other reviews about how great the quality is for the price. The appearance of the watch does look pretty good but the mechanics are not so great. The bezel of the first watch I received didn't rotate. I sent it back for a replacement. The bezel on the second watch I received worked but the second hand moved between the second marks like it was counting half seconds all the way around the dial. I also noticed that this happened on the first watch, but for some reason the second hand hit the second marks only half way around the dial and was off the other half. The watch looks great but I woudn't say it's a quality watch.

3.0 out of 5 stars Build quality, September 1, 2007

Ordered this watch from Amazon for a good price. The Invicta #9308 is more about the "bling" than it is the functionality. Polished and brushed stainless steel bracelet adds to that look, along with flashy blue housing. Nice and light to wear and looks like a knockoff of more expensive watches. The luminous hands and markings glow well in the dark. The build quality, however, seems poor. The bezel on top is difficult to rotate, and the second hand hits in between the marks almost the whole way round. The best things about it are a)when you buy the watch from Amazon, Invicta extends the warranty to something like 5 years b) the price c) the presentation is very good--the yellow box the watch comes in is like candy. I almost wanted to keep the watch so I could keep the box. In the end, though, I went for the Momentum M1 Orca, which has greater functionality while a bit more expensive. Overall, I'd say this is a good starter watch for someone in high school or maybe college.

I was a little surprised at how shiny and "flashy" this watch is. Also, while the outer edges of the band are brushed steel, the center of the band is highly polished, and the crystal is highly reflective. It looked slightly different than I had expected; however, in the end, I decided to keep it. My wife and friends think it's beautiful, so I guess it just depends on your style.
Watch seems solid and has kept accurate time since I first set it a little over a month ago.
Good size and heft for men who can pull off a larger watch. Believe the comments about the length of the band; I'm a large man and this is the first time I've ever needed a smaller band. I had one link taken out, and then adjusted the pins in the clasp to make it a bit more snug.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, but definitely poor build quality, December 25, 2007

I took a chance on this watch despite several reviews about poor quality construction (mentioned also in reviews of the same watch in other colors), because I really like the style. Unfortunately, the other reviews were right. First, the watch I received does not have the same face as shown in the item picture. The model number received is the 9308A (not the 9308), and does not have the red Invicta insignia. It is the "hollow" Invicta insignia, which I would like better, except the the second hand has a tiny Invicta logo attached at its base -- -- personally, I think it makes the watch look cheaper. Also, while the bezel is blue the face of the watch is much more of a purple/blue. Nonetheless, I would have kept the watch, except the bezel was extremely difficult to turn. I can't see anyone actually using it underwater, or with dive gloves on. As well, as mentioned in other reviews, the second hand falls between the hash marks. Maybe its a small detail, but I know it would frustrate me every time I looked at the watch. The screw down crown feature would be nice, except the crown rubs against the casing and is difficult to release. There are supposed to be two distinct positions for the crown once unscrewed, one to set the time, the second position to set the date. Unfortunately, the mechanism is rather poorly executed and the crown kept slipping out of position while I tried to set the date, and would reset the time. Then, once I set the time and date, it took several tries to screw down the crown without actually altering the time setting. For me, even though the watch was just under $100.00, there are too many flaws to keep it. I have a $45.00 Relic We that is now 8 years old that was built better than this watch.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice looking watch...Picture shown is not accurate., August 23, 2011

Just got this watch today, and my first impression is mixed. Just like another customer commented, the seconds hand is not hitting the mark all the way around, but can't be noticed easily. The picture shown own Amazon and Invictawatches.com is not accurate for this model. My watch does not show "Swiss" just below the Invicta logo, even though it says "Swiss Movement" at the bottom. Also, invicta web site says "Screw down security crown",but it is not true. The model number on the watch shows "9308A", so i am not sure if it is a slightly different specs compared to what is shown on this website.I paid $93 for this watch on Amazon.com, but reading the other customers reviews, i think i paid too much for this watch.

This watch definitely looks good once you adjust the band and remove all the plastic protection from it. I am hoping this to show accurate time, because it is Quartz. The watch looks somewhat similar to Omega seamaster, which is nearly 20x expensive, so i am happy with what i got.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected, January 6, 2009
This review is from: Invicta Men's 9308 Pro Diver Collection Stainless Steel Watch (Watch)
Having owned a Rolex submariner I was somewhat skeptical about this purchase. But money was tight and the rolex had to go. I purchased my Invicta almost a month ago and am very happy. It has good weight, maintains excellent time, and looks a lot more expensive than what I paid for. The only thing I would want Invicta to change is the clasp. For a few dollars more I think they could make the clasp heavier and more sturdy. Apart from that, this watch is a great buy...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Watch, June 8, 2007
This review is from: Invicta Men's 9308 Pro Diver Collection Stainless Steel Watch (Watch)
This is a great watch and is well worth every penny I paid for it. It has the looks and constuction of a very expensive watch for a fraction of the cost. I would buy 10 more of the same watch if I had a need for them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Definitely not perfect., August 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Invicta Men's 9308 Pro Diver Collection Stainless Steel Watch (Watch)
Before I begin, let me say that I very much hoped to give this watch 5 stars.

First, the watch is very beautiful. It definitely looks like a Rolex or Omega. There is a slight problem with the second hand not hitting the mark all the way around, but it doesn't land in the middle -- more like right before the tick mark. But there are two big reasons why I couldn't give this watch 5 stars:

1. It is VERY difficult to remove links. Most websites I found tell you you will need a push pin or a special tool specifically designed for the task. I can tell you that a push pin is not enough. I broke two push pins in my first attempts to remove links. What you need are a mallet and some thin nails (you're going to bend a few). And if you're unlucky, like me, one of the pins for a link just won't come out or go back in and you'll be stuck with the pin sticking out by a half-millimeter. And, yes, I was removing them in the right direction.

2. The crown doesn't screw down. I know mine is probably defective, but my understanding is that Invicta isn't exactly the best when it comes to customer service and that I would have to pay upwards of $20 to send it in for repairs. Not happening.

At the time I purchased the watch, it was $78, but I'd say it's worth closer to $60 than $80.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best watch for the price, July 8, 2008
This review is from: Invicta Men's 9308 Pro Diver Collection Stainless Steel Watch (Watch)
I have probably 12 watches, at least. I think this is maybe my best watch for the money. Here are my reasons:

- Cost me under $ 100 and looks like a Rolex or Omega
- Is very light and I like that for summer
- And yet, is still steel and has the steel look and feel

I don't think you can get a better Swiss watch than this (mine says "Swiss Movement", which I think might mean it was designed in Switz. but made elsewhere, but who cares, for that price ?).

All in all, a very good watch for the money. I agree, it is a little shiny and that might not be everyone's thing.
