I love watches and have a growing collection, but this is my first Invicta. It caught my eye online and is even better looking in person.
The first thing to notice is the box it comes in. The watch itself comes in a beautiful "Invicta" branded yellow box that opens like a clamshell. The interior of the box is a very soft microfiber lined with the watch seated in the middle wrapped around a watch pillow of the same material. The outside of the watch is well protected by plastic wrapping and the box is very sturdy. Included in the box is a microfiber cloth(same material as the inside of the box), a very clear manual depicting how to use/set all styles of Invicta watches, and a warranty card/information sheet.
The watch is sturdy and well built. The casing and band are both "beefy" and solid feeling. Featuring a scratch resistant sapphire dial window, Japanese quartz movement, and water resistance up to 330 feet this watch has everything you want on a quality time piece. The crown and chronograph buttons do not feel cheap, which is my main concern on other watches. The band is huge right out of the box. I do not have small wrists and I still need to take 4-5 links out, so if you have a bigger wrist there is no need to worry. It is a little heavy but much more comfortable than my fossil large face watch, the weight sits well on the wrist and doesn't feel cumbersome.
Obviously looks are subjective but I will include my thoughts to give an idea of how it looks in person. The face is big, featuring roman numerals at each hour, and is easy to read at a glance. The roman numerals look classy and fit the overall look of the watch well. The colors look great together and are well balanced, there is enough white and touches of red to look interesting but not cluttered. The ion-plated black stripe on the band looks really smart and clean. The face of the watch is a little deeper than it looks pictured here, there is much more space between the dial window and the actual face. I think this gives the watch a really distinct look. On the negative the sub-dials are a little small and tough to read at first but once you are acquainted with which dial is which it is easy to read at a glance.
This is a great watch and I would not be embarrassed to wear it anywhere. Everyday or in a suit and tie I would feel comfortable with this watch. Even though it has distinct looks it still has a conservative vibe. Coupled with a 1 year standard warranty(5 years if you order from amazon) I think this watch will last for ages.
Side Note: I see a lot of reviews on the other colors of this watch crying about a dead battery on arrival. This is NOT a 2009 watch, they have been on the shelf for a while... I don't know if people expect amazon to open the packages and inspect each watch from time to time but that is not how it works. If you like the watch it is worth the extra $15 to go get a new battery if it happens to be DOA. It is neither the watch's nor amazon's fault.
