Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Thin is in with this stainless steel men's watch from Invicta's Slim Collection, which is a great choice for everyday casual wear. But with its amazingly svelte 5mm (0.2 inches) profile, it can also be perfectly tucked under the cuff when dress or business wear is called for. Offering Invicta's refined, modern styling, this watch is powered by a precisely timed Swiss-manufactured quartz movement.

And while it might be stereotypical, the truth is many of the world's finest and most accurate timing movements are created in Switzerland. This is due to the wealth of knowledge and infrastructure that's been built up in the Swiss watch industry over the centuries, and with many of the Swiss practitioners having the trade and watchmaking traditions passed down over the generations.

Matched with a supple black leather strap, this watch has an oval, silver stainless steel watch case that measures 39mm wide (1.54 inches). Its black dial face features a two-handed movement placed in a slightly recessed center, which is surrounded by a silver tone markers and Arabic numerals. It's water resistant to 30 meters (99 feet), also known as 3 ATM. This means that it can withstand rain and splashes of water--such as car washing and showering--but it shouldn't be worn swimming.

Other features include a scratch-resistant mineral crystal, stainless steel buckle, and Tritnite luminous hands. Tritnite is a luminous material with an extended glow exclusively developed by Invicta in Switzerland and added to their timepiece hands and markers. When exposed to regular daylight, it will hold its glow for about 20 hours.

Quartz Movement
The "movement" of a watch refers to the mechanics that power the ticking of the timepiece, and this watch is powered by a Swiss-made quartz movement. It utilizes the vibrations of a tiny quartz crystal to maintain timing, which provides a fast, steady oscillation (at more than 30,000 times per second) to provide excellent accuracy.

These are the words that greet visitors and motivate team members inside the Invicta Watch Group's new worldwide headquarters. Emblazoned in stainless steel, it has been the Invicta message since Day One.

With each new timepiece, the company sends up a flare for those looking to be defined not by how much they spend, but how wisely they spend. With its strong collections, the gutsy Swiss brand is guaranteed to keep attracting followers.

The art of the craft. Inside an Invicta Workshop
It takes years of training and a great deal of pride to achieve glorious Swiss timepieces by hand. But it takes guts and the courage of your convictions to make those timepieces affordable for everyone who appreciates them.

At our Swiss workshops, we mix time-honored traditions with a little bit of horse sense every single day to produce the greatest values in the watch-making world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great watch, The crown is a little sharp, February 3, 2009

The watch has performed well for me so far. It's thin and light and looks sophisticated. My only complaint is that the edge of the crown is sharp, sometimes irritating my wrist when I twist my hand up. I fixed this by carefully softening the edge with some 600 grit sandpaper.

I got this as a present from my wife, after using a Fossil I liked for years this was a great improvement from it!

The design is elegant and contrary to what the picture may suggest, it is not a very big watch.

The slim design makes this a very good looking watch and very light and comfortable to wear.
As seen in the picture this is an analog watch and also note that its only function is to tell the time, there is nowhere on its face that contains date.

I'd recommend this one any time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice watch but pay attention, November 29, 2011

This review is from: Invicta Men's 5137 Slim Collection Round Black Leather Watch (Watch)
I bought this watch for my husband as he has yet to get a leather band one, only metal.

The things I love? It can so easily go casual or dressy because of it's simplicity and understated elegance. It's a very classy piece. It's thin so it's not getting in the way or getting banged up all over the place. It doesn't have to have links taken out or put in for him to wear it, and it doesn't make that metal clanky noise whenever he moves his wrist.

Cons. There really isn't too much for a con on this watch. However... When I got it I immediately wrapped it up in anticipation of giving it to him a few weeks later for our anniversary. I had made sure the battery worked and then pulled the pin back out and set it on the shelf, wrapped, awaiting its delivery. Once my husband finally opened it and started wearing it regularly he noticed that it wasn't keeping time right. Granted this was a few days after opening it. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THIS WHEN YOU GET IT!!! I honestly think it was just that the battery was dying in it. However, rather than contact the seller I took it to my local Kay Jewelers to get a new batter put in. I went through a heck of a time with them, no issue on the sellers part...all on Kay's behalf. Be aware that this watch cannot have its batter changed in your local jewelers unless they have the ability to seal water tight. Kay's did not, though the gentleman kept trying. In his attempt to get the back on he bent the pin, they sent it to their shop...who did get the back on but didn't repair the pin so when I got the watch back it didn't work at all. They sent it back out and this time mailed it straight to Invicta who took care of the issues, however because this watch is no longer made by invicta it took them 3 weeks to get a new back mailed in from over seas so that they could install it on my watch.

The whole ordeal took almost 7 months of it being out for repairs before he could wear it, however now that we have it and it's working like a charm we love it. Allow me to state again, my problem for the repairs were not with the seller. The seller mailed it to me on time and well packaged. However, just make sure you check your battery (as that's the only thing that could have been seller related) when you first get it and if it's slow contact them to see about swapping it or something. If you do have to go to your local jeweler be aware of these items with the watch and make sure the person fixing it is paying attention to what they're doing, otherwise the process of mailing it to Invicta to get it taken care of is a long one. Not impossible and they're really great about getting it done, unfortunately it just takes Invicta a while to get the parts they need to do it.
