Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The bold blue dial and matching bezel of the Invicta Men's Pro Diver Automatic Two-Tone Watch create a handsome, nautical background that allows gold-tone details of this automatic, self-winding timepiece to really shine. A stainless steel band features a gold-tone center stripe that complements gold-tone Arabic numeral and bar minute markers on a blue bezel. A blue dial displays luminescent, geometric hour indicators framed in gold tones. Gold-tone stick minute markers, luminescent, gold-tone hands, and a date window at the three o'clock position complete this diving watch. This watch presents in a handsome yellow Invicta gift box and is water resistant to 660 feet (200 m).

Pro Diver Collection

Plunge into any horizon using the steadfast guidance of the Invicta Pro Diver. Stylishly classic, internal workings are forged with variations of either Swiss chronograph or 21-jewel automatic movements and willingly navigate in depths up to 300 meters. Built with confident prowess, the fortitude with which these timepieces function makes the Pro Diver the quintessential in performance.

Screw Down Crowns: Many Invicta watches are equipped with a screw down crown to help prevent water infiltration. This is most common on our Diver models. In order to adjust the date and/or time on such a watch, you must first unscrew the crown before you can gently pull it out to its first or second click stop position. To do this, simply rotate the crown counterclockwise until it springs open. When you have finished setting the watch, the crown must then be pushed in and screwed back in tightly. Not doing so will cancel the water resistance of the watch and will void all warranties from the manufacturer. Overall, this process should not require a lot of effort or force.

Automatic Watches

Automatic watches do not operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of about 130 or more parts that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the movement of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the balance wheel. The balance wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Lengthening or shortening the balance spring makes the balance wheel go faster or slower to advance or retard the watch. The travel of the balance wheel from one extreme to the other and back again is called oscillation. Lastly, automatic movements come in different types, including movements that are Swiss-made, Japanese-made, and more.

Also referred to as self-winding, watches with automatic movements utilize kinetic energy, the swinging of your arm, to provide energy to an oscillating rotor to keep the watch ticking. They're considered more satisfying to watch collectors (horologists) because of the engineering artistry that goes into the hundreds of parts that make up the movement. If you do not wear an automatic watch consistently (for about 8 to 12 hours a day), you can keep the watch powered with a watch winder (a great gift for collectors).

5.0 out of 5 stars Invicta 4607 Pro Diver - Beautiful Watch, June 20, 2008
By

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The watch comes in a beautiful yellow box with all manuals and warranty documents. It worked right out of the box, and I was stunned at its beauty. This is my second INVICTA. I also own an INVICTA sub diver series watch.

The craftsmanship, finish and detail of the Pro Diver 4607 (43 Series) watch is second to none in this price category or any category for that matter, unless your willing to pay thousands for a watch. I paid around $175 for it.

It's fully automatic so it doesn't need a battery, it's water resistant to 200 meters (see my update below) and I believe it uses the reliable Japanese Miyota automatic movement. The calendar date magnifier allows you to see the date clearly. The two-tone stainless steel bracelet is fine but, personally I would prefer a heavier gauge metal bracelet.

I highly recommend this INVICTA watch for people who like striking, elegant Pro diver style watches. This is a watch I will cherish for years to come.

Update:

This watch unfortunately didn't live up to its name (Pro Diver) rated at 200m or 660ft. The first time I went snorkelling with it the watch face immediately filled with water and the watch stopped working. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. I didn't just purchase this watch for looks, but assumed it was rugged enough to withstand a bit of snorkelling in fresh water.

I would have to question to what extent the watch was pressure tested prior to going on sale. In any event, I sent the watch off for repairs under warranty and 7 weeks later received the watch back from Invicta in working order. This is my second Invicta and both have failed in the water although claiming 100m and 200m water resistance (See my review on the Sub diver). By comparison all my Casio and Seiko watches claim 100m water resistance and all have been in the water on numerous occasions and none have ever taken on water!

Unfortunately, my next dive watch purchase will probably not be an Invicta.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality Control!, October 12, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Invicta Men's 4607 Pro Diver Automatic Two-Tone Watch (Watch)
This watch promised much when I opened the box, but unfortunately, falls short of delivering on the promise. This timepiece, the Invicta 4607 is a beautiful watch, comparable in size to the Seiko Monster offering, with a two tone gold and stainless case and bracelet. I opened the box, sized the bracelet (easy operation), gave it the requisite ten windings, set the time, and wore the watch for the remainder of the day, approx. 15 hours. I changed watches and wore my Seiko Orange Monster next, and when I went to change back to the 4607, the watch had stopped about two hours before I wore it again, about 20 hours after removing it. I assumed the watch had stopped because I had not given it a chance to fully wind. I unscrewed the crown, felt it pop out as it should, and tried to wind it. Here is when things went wonky. I could not wind the watch in the position the stem achieved when it released from the screw crown-it kept changing the date! I set the date and the time ( at this point, the watch was running from being handled), returned the crown to its screwed in position, and attempted to wind the watch again. No good-the date kept changing again! I repeated this process again with the same result. Finally, I unscrewed the crown, and this time the date changed AGAIN without the crown and stem popping out! I pulled the crown out to the last detent (time setting position), pushed it back past the the date setting position, and only then was I finally able to manually wind the watch. Now, whenever I unscrew the crown, the date changes without any provocation, and I must play hunt and seek to find the proper position to wind the watch or set the time. This watch is a classic example of "getting what you pay for." I own an Invicta 8926, which has been an excellent watch, and the reason I purchased the 4607. With Invicta's warranty shipping policy, coupled with the fact that I paid less than half the price currently being offered by Amazon (and I purchased from Amazon, not a marketplace merchant), it does not make financial sense to be bothered to send the watch for repairs. Instead, I have a beautiful watch that brings only aggravation. Stay away from this product, and buyer beware when purchasing an Invicta product-your eyes are your bargain.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice watch for the money, March 2, 2011
By
Mark Williams (Richmond, VA, US) - See all my reviews
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Invicta Men's 4607 Pro Diver Automatic Two-Tone Watch (Watch)
Bought this watch to wear to work because it was advertised to have a scratch resistant mineral crystal and after a year, it hasn't scratched. The gold on the band has worn off and makes the otherwise very nice looking watch, look old and worn. I continue to wear the watch daily to work and around the house so it will continue to stay wound up. I have other Invicta watches and like to trade off on the weekends, but you really need to have a watch winder for these so you are not having to fix the date and time every other day. And for the price I paid, its really hard to beat. I bought the watch band pin kit to adjust the bands and it is very easy to do. I highly recommend this watch.
