3.0 out of 5 stars The picture doesn't show the actual look
The actual product looks OK, but it is a bit different from what the picture here shows. The bezel is more shining and lacks the luminous dot at the 0-minute position. The dial is very grey.

The bezel does not turn as easily as #8926.

I am extremely impressed with the feel, look and general quality of the watch. It contains the Citizen Miyota 21 jewel automatic movement that is a true workhorse for a fraction of the price. The comfortable stainess steel pinned link bracelet is worth the price of the watch. It has rounded flexible brushed steel wrist links The foldover adjustable double safety clasp uses pins as well. Can easily be mistaken for a watch costing much more. The Mineral Glass crystal is scratch resistant - but not as good as a sapphire watch face, but is less prone to chipping or shattering than a sapphire crystal. The display watchback is also mineral glass - displaying the undecorated Miyota automatic movement. It look as stylish and run as well as my other watches, and, I receive as many comments if not more from the Invicta's. It is a great looking watch! Good value, accurate and stylish if you like the Sub' look. This is a good day-to-day knock about watch that still looks better than the quartz stuff in the same price band.

4.0 out of 5 stars A tale of two (or three) Invictas, September 21, 2010

This review is from: Invicta Men's 9210 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch (Watch)
A few things anyone should know before purchasing an Invicta. (1) Customer Service and Quality Control is spotty and (2) the Pro Diver can be an unbelievable value if you get one that is up to spec. About ten years ago, I purchased the old version of the 9210 (with the coin bezel). When I got it, I noticed that the cyclops (magnifier over the date window) was slightly misaligned. I sent it back to Invicta for warranty service. When I got it back, it didn't look like much had been done to it, other than the appearance of a new tool mark on the back of the case. Whatever - the scratch wasn't visible during wear, and the misalignment of the cyclops was slight, so I lived with it for awhile until someone showed me how to remove the cyclops (which actually seemed to improve the appearance of the watch).

The watch served me well for five years as a near-daily wearer (I even swam with it) until I dropped it on a tile floor, causing the crown and stem to pop out (this would be "user error"). I took it in to a local shop for repair but was informed that the price of repair would likely run close to the price of a new 9210 and that I should probably just order another one from wherever I got it. I shelved the 9210 (never threw it away), and relied upon my other watches with the idea that I'd pick up another 9210 if I spotted one at a good price.

Fast forward five years, and I saw this at a very good price (about $30 less than what I paid for my first 9210) and had to pick it up (free shipping too!). The new version features a scalloped bezel, larger numbers on the bezel, and some "wingdings" on the second hand. Side by side comparison reveals that the dial is a lighter, more silvery color than the metallic gray dial of the earlier 9210. Otherwise, the watch is very similar to the 9210 I purchased 10 years ago. As a plus, the cyclops appears to be aligned correctly (still debating on removing it). The yellow Invicta box is a bit smaller than the old boxes they used to use, but is still impressive at this price point(but you have to like yellow vinyl). You would be hard pressed to find an all-stainless watch with an automatic movement that looks as good as this watch for under $100.

That's the good. Now here's the bad. QC (quality control) with Invicta product (in my anecdotal - i.e., not empirical - experience and opinion) is not always the best in the business. When I purchased my 9210 10 years ago, I also purchased one of its sister pieces for my dad (another pro-diver, but with a blue dial and bi-tone gold and silver bracelet). While it looked premium at first, some problems developed: (1) the watch did not self-wind very well (my dad had to manual wind daily to get it to work), (2) the bracelet had a tendency to spontaneously come apart (loose friction pins), and (3) the gold plating started to flake after a year (didn't look good). Eventually, my dad found it too much trouble, and, after a few trips to the repair shop and a few years of wear, he scrapped the watch. Also, a friend of mine purchased another pro-diver (black dial, all stainless pro diver) about the same time I got my first 9210. His worked well at first, but after a few months of wear, the bezel insert fell out (this was easily repaired with superglue). Also, after a few more years, he had the same problem my dad did with the bracelet coming apart (loose friction pins again). He similarly eventually scrapped the watch. In neither instance did anyone feel like it was worth sending the watches back for warranty service (personal preference, but again, my one experience with Invicta CS was disappointing, and for a watch that costs as much as an accessory watch from a department store, the hassle doesn't seem worth it).

The failures of my dad's and my friend's pro-divers never occurred in my first 9210 (was I lucky, or were they unlucky?) and hopefully won't happen to the 9210 I just purchased (which, so far, appears to have been fitted and finished properly). I like the 9210 because it's relatively cheap (usually), all stainless with a solid stainless link bracelet(corrosion resistant with no gold plating to flake off), has no bezel insert (one less item to fail on the watch), and costs about $8,700.00 less than another watch I like (stylish). As long as someone at the factory did a reasonable job of putting the dial, hands, and Miyota in the case, there's a decent chance the watch will work as advertised. Still, I would not rely on Invicta customer/warranty service to fix any problems though (research it yourself if you don't agree) and would be wary of lemons. Invicta is a "value-brand" and can be enjoyed as such as long as you know what you may or may not be getting into.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Looker, November 15, 2010

This review is from: Invicta Men's 9210 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch (Watch)
I have purchased a number of 'Invicta' watches over the past couple of months.
Some for christmas gifts and a few for myself.
This one is one of my favorites (along with the 6620 II)
This watch is 'Simple' and 'Understated' The photos do not do justice.
When you see this watch in person you see just how 'Clean' the styling is.
There is no fuss no muss. there is no 'stopwatch' no 'Chrono' it has no 'tach' dial and you will NEVER need to change a battery. There is no ambiguity. You know this watch was built to do one thing, Keep time (with a date function) and to maintain water resistance (ok,,a couple of things). This watch is a looker and fetches compliments like my 6620. I have over the years purchased Victronox Lancer 100 & 200 models and I would not hesitate to put this watch up against either of them (and those watches cost $200 to $300 each).
If you simply want a watch that will Just tell time. This is the one for you.
It also is water resistant to 660 feet (the screwdown crown is a nice feature)
Just think,,if you drown while swimming the English Channel your watch will still be in working condition when your corpes is recovered. Sure to please your survivors.
Buy the watch!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it, October 15, 2009
This review is from: Invicta Men's 9210 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch (Watch)
My first Invicta & my first "big" watch. I usually wear a small, low-profile Movado. I am very happy w/ it. After ~1 month, I'm appreciating the quality. It's very striking & it impresses. The size took getting used to for me, but I knew that buying it.

The look is very genuine. I fooled a friend who has the "other" watch this resembles. Honestly! A sharp eye will note the differences, but 99% of folks will think you spent $8k.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Watch, September 3, 2009

This review is from: Invicta Men's 9210 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch (Watch)
I received this watch just a few days ago. It has a great silver bezel and face. It looks just like a rolex yachtmaster minus the coin edge bezel. The case is actually 40mm not 44mm like the description says. I suspected this may be the case before i ordered it, because of the research i had done on other sites. Nevertheless the 40mm case is the perfect size. The watch has a good weight to it, and the band seems fairly strong. Invicta makes good quality watches and for the money they are unbeatable. The picture on amazon does not do the watch justice, so just google invicta 9210 for some more pictures. But if your looking for a reasonably priced watch you should seriously consider this one. It has a lot of the same qualities as a several thousand dollar timepiece.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice watch at a nice price, January 14, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Invicta Men's 9210 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch (Watch)
I must say I was a bit skeptical about this purchase (because of the price) at first but I am very surprised at how nice this watch truly is. First off if it had the coin bezel it would be an exact match of the Rolex Yachtmaster. The watch looks great and is so far a good watch, I am making this my everyday watch. I recently bought a Tissot Seastar so this is my second diver watch and I enjoy both of them. The face is actually grey though, you can't really tell by the picture showed on amazon. The see through window on the back that allows you to see the insides of the watch is real nice and the bracelet seems like a good hardy one. I was able to get this watch for around 65$$ and on other sites its going from anywhere from $$85-$135 so I got the watch at a steal and compared to other automatic watches that are much more expensive you probably couldn't even tell the difference in the movement unless you are an expert, which I am not. I'll most likely buy some more Invictas!

5.0 out of 5 stars pleasant surprise, December 27, 2008

Invicta take quite a beating in the reviews sometimes and I have played my part as they make a vast selection of watches, some of which are incredibly ugly or impractical. This one is beautiful though. It's one of those watches where the balance is just right. The band is good quality, it keeps good time (I have had it a week and it is still settling, so perhaps off by 30 sec. a day).
The bezel is not matte as in the photo, but shiny, so it compliments the center of the band. Apart from Invicta being inscribed on every single piece of the thing (side, the winder, the back, the face, the clasp and the inside of every single link... come on Invicta, you copy the Rolex Yacht Master and then defile it by putting your name on it 16 times) it's an understated watch. Great with jeans and great with a suit.

So I got the understated beauty of an eight thousand dollar watch for $65. I love it. You will too.

July 21, 2010
The date does not line up in the date window under the magnifier anymore, which is annoying and makes the date really difficult to read. Apart from that the watch is still in one piece and keeping decent time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best watch I've ever owned!, December 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Invicta Men's 9210 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch (Watch)
Not quite as nice as the real thing (Rolex), but at a fraction of the price, this is an excellent watch! It looks great and feels "right" on my wrist. I love not having to replace watch batteries. I do have to adjust the time about once a month or so because it will be off by a minute or two, but other than that I absolutely love it. I beat the heck out of it and swim with it once a week and it takes all my abuse.
