Yes, this watch looks a lot like the Rolex Explorer II and, in fact, provides all the same functions as the Rolex for 100 times less money, more or less. And, to my knowledge, you can't get the Rolex Explorer with a blue dial. And yes, the Invicta has a Japanese quartz movement, not the famous Rolex mechanical, self-winding Swiss movement, but I would bet that the Invicta is probably just as accurate over any given 60-day period.
The Invicta case size of 39mm diameter and 11mm thickness, is very close to the Rolex, and both have 20mm solid-link steel Oyster bracelets. The battery in the Invicta will require changing after about 2-5 years, but that won't cost anywhere near as much as sending your Rolex to an authorized repair facility for cleaning and adjusting every 10 years or so.
Both watches have dual timezone function, good for the frequent trans-timezone traveler, but you'll feel a lot less bad about having your Invicta lost or stolen on that European vacation.
    Other Invicta pluses include:
.It's a good-looking watch truly suited to all-around wear for all occasions. I'm thinking the Rolex probably has better actual water resistance and the Rolex sapphire crystal is nice, and there is always the whole status thing, but, again, thousands of dollars difference in price.
.The Invicta GMT (red arrow) hand is easy to set, but you should set it a little ahead of where you want it. That is, set it a little ahead of the exact time in the second time zone to account for any slack in the movement. Otherwise, the GMT hand will run a little behind the desired setting. And be happy with decent accuracy in the GMT hand since it circles the dial only once every 24 hours.
.The luminosity and overall readability of this watch are great.

Watch has a good, rugged feel to it. It's attractive with the blue background. It's a typical Invicta wath -- reliable, but go easy on the crown. If Invicta could improve it's watch line at all it would be to select movements that have a more durable crown and stem.
My GMT's alternate hour hand, however, doesn't seem to line up very well. That's why I knocked a star off of this review. It's inexpensive and worth the investment, but I don't think you will be navigating the South Pole with this one though.

For $70+ it keeps good time and was worth the money. Hands glow bright in dark and stay bright during night. Looks more expensive and is rugged. Has a date magnifier that I find useful. Comes in its own (bright yellow) case and is packaged well. One of my favorite watches for everyday use.

Sadly I am having to return this watch because the face is purple and not blue. I have looked at the face in natural light, florescent light, low light and in all instances when you see it you see purple. I realize that computer monitors can have an effect on colors, but when the description states "blue" I would expect to see blue. This is the 2nd invicta watch I have had to return because what is described as blue is not blue. I am giving it 3 stars because it is a nice watch with regards to size, weight, and operation. I just cannot give it any better ranking, and I hope this helps others in the future.

Very happy with the watch. As previously critiqued, the GMT hand is a little tricky to set accurately but once it's set you're good. Watch has one control knob. One knob click out sets GMT in one direction and Date in other direction. Two knob clicks out sets time. Best method is to set the time to a straight up on the hour setting, then set the red GMT hand so it points directly at (maybe lead it a hair) the appropriate hour number on the 24 hr outer bezel. Now go back and set the time to the exact current time, the GMT hand will rotate as it should while you set the exact time.

The second hand jumps around rather strangely and doesn't line up precisely with the minute markings. This watch was apparently sold at one time with a Japanese sourced movement. It is now a Swiss Ronda movement likely assembled in China. The crown no longer screws down but the watch still has a 200 meter resistance rating. The case, face, bezel, band and hands are so well designed and executed that these other flaws can be overlooked. It's a fantastic homage to the Rolex Explorer ii gmt that almost anyone can afford. The blue face on my 9400 is stunning.

For the price, this watch is an excellent value. Quite heavy for its size so take that into account. No big deal really and it shows quality of construction. Unlike some reviews have stated, the GMT hand is easily adjusted independently of the main time display. Pull the crown to the first detent and turn one way to set date and the opposite way to set GMT hand. Set main time display first. Had a Rolex GMT Master for many years. Beautiful piece of jewelry; crummy watch. Had to reset time every week. Quartz is the way to go and you get to keep $11,000 in your wallet.

I can't afford an Rlx Explorer II, so I bought this, no apologies. And love it, great watch, handsome watch. I can buy one of these every year for the rest of my life and still come out ahead. Every time you service a Rlx, the cost is at least 5 of these Invicta's, what more need to be said.
