Great Looking Watch!!!, January 22, 2010
This review is from: Invicta Men's 6502 Pro Diver Collection Stainless Steel Watch (Watch)
This watch looks stunning in person! The dial is dark blue...almost looks dark purple in darker settings. The number markings actually kind of have a greenish hue to it...like it's coated with lumite...but it doesn't actually glow-in-the-dark. The hands however do glow in the dark. I don't like the rotating bezel. It's really hard to rotate it because there's nothing to grip on to it and it has a really smooth texture. So I cannot see "divers" being able to use this function...especially considering that the watch will be wet in "diving" scenarios which will make it even harder to use the rotating-bezel as a diving timer.
The watch isn't big either. My tiny wrist is only 6.7inches in circumference, and it looks great. The thinness of the watch at 9mm thick also makes this watch suitable for people with small wrists. The watch look really expensive. The sapphire-infused window found on Invictas is really nice because it's scratch-resistant and super clear....sometimes you have to look hard to notice that there's glass covering the dials. The red second-hand is also nice because it contrasts against the blue face. The magnifier on the window is also nice because it makes reading the date so much easier. And the watch was really easy to size because unlike Skagens that are impossible to take the pins out for instance, the pins are really easy to take out yourself. I sized my watch in under 8 minutes. The watch is also really light.
The only cons I have is I wish the crown was smaller and quality control-related issues. The crown-dial juts out a little too much (as you can see in the pix), so when you bend your wrist upwards, the crown kinda pokes into your wrist...which is a little uncomfortable. The 2nd con I mentioned because there's 2 very tiny pieces of white dust on the dark blue face under the glass. It's only noticeable if you stare at it closely or know where it is though. I just didn't expect this for a $400 MSRP watch. But overall, I'd definately recommend this watch. I waited 3 months before purchasing an Invicta because I could never find the right one and price. Some Invictas were either too big face-wise or thick-wise. Some were too small face-wise...making it look like a women's watch. This one is perfect and the style caught my attention right away cuz it's not too subtle like some Invictas or too extravagant like some of the other models.

Nice watch, but..., February 27, 2010

Although this is a very cool looking watch, there were several things that made me return it and purchase a different Invicta. First, the green color of the numbers and the hour markers doesn't come across in the photo. I thought they would be more white, but they are definitely green. Second, the date kept skipping. I don't know why this was. The crown would not screw down all the way. Not sure if it was supposed to, but with all the other watches I have the crown is either tight when you press it back in or you can screw it tight. This one would not and may have been why the date kept skipping. Finally, the watch face is large and the first reviewer was right - it has a tendency to dig into your wrist, partly because it has such a low profile (only 9mm) which I thought would be a plus but turns out to be a possible negative depending on your wrist. What I do like about the watch is the red second hand. I wish more Invictas had that because it is very cool. I ended up getting the Invicta Automatic 9094 instead and like it much better - you can see my review for that watch under 9094.
