Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Elegance and functionality combine to make Invicta's Pro Diver Collection Swiss Automatic Watch for men a superior timepiece. Featuring a combination of matte and polished stainless steel on the bracelet, a fold-over clasp closure, a stainless steel case and unidirectional bezel with chronographic indexes, a date window at the three o'clock position, and luminescent hourly indexes and hands set against a black dial, this handsomely designed watch has it all. In classic diver-style, this first-class watch is Swiss-automatic powered and water resistant to 1000 feet (300 M).

Pro Diver Collection

Plunge into any horizon using the steadfast guidance of the Invicta Pro Diver. Stylishly classic, internal workings are forged with variations of either Swiss chronograph or 21-jewel automatic movements and willingly navigate in depths up to 300 meters. Built with confident prowess, the fortitude with which these timepieces function makes the Pro Diver the quintessential in performance.

Screw Down Crowns: Many Invicta watches are equipped with a screw down crown to help prevent water infiltration. This is most common on our Diver models. In order to adjust the date and/or time on such a watch, you must first unscrew the crown before you can gently pull it out to its first or second click stop position. To do this, simply rotate the crown counterclockwise until it springs open. When you have finished setting the watch, the crown must then be pushed in and screwed back in tightly. Not doing so will cancel the water resistance of the watch and will void all warranties from the manufacturer. Overall, this process should not require a lot of effort or force.

Automatic Watches

Automatic watches do not operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of about 130 or more parts that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the movement of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the balance wheel. The balance wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Lengthening or shortening the balance spring makes the balance wheel go faster or slower to advance or retard the watch. The travel of the balance wheel from one extreme to the other and back again is called oscillation. Lastly, automatic movements come in different types, including movements that are Swiss-made, Japanese-made, and more.

Also referred to as self-winding, watches with automatic movements utilize kinetic energy, the swinging of your arm, to provide energy to an oscillating rotor to keep the watch ticking. They're considered more satisfying to watch collectors (horologists) because of the engineering artistry that goes into the hundreds of parts that make up the movement. If you do not wear an automatic watch consistently (for about 8 to 12 hours a day), you can keep the watch powered with a watch winder (a great gift for collectors).

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Watch, February 11, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This Invicta Swiss Pro Diver 4469 is sized in between the standard 8926 Pro Diver and the really big Invicta 3044 Grand Diver, but actually much closer in size to the Grand Diver. It has a big 22mm bracelet of the Grand Diver, without the diver helmet details, and the Grand Diver's deep case, with Invicta on the side. The bracelet clasp has a precision hinge compared to the stamped hinge of the 8926. It has the Rolex style coin edge bezel while the Grand Diver has the Omega style scalloped edge bezel. Although some of the popular Invicta 8926 Pro Divers come with the coin edge bevel, there is no mistaking this model for the 8926 Pro Diver, the difference in size is obvious once you have seen both. With a Swiss 26 jewel movement, mother of pearl face, saphire crystal, more magnification of the date, hacking movement... it is nicer in details than either the 8926 or the 3044. If you are looking for a big watch for a minimum price, the Grand Diver is bigger and does cost less than this 4469. But if you want a big watch with nicer movement than the Grand Diver, and nicer details, and are willing to pay a bit more, then this 4469 is an alternative to the 3044 Grand Diver. It does look a lot like the Rolex Submariner. It could be easily mistaken for the Rolex Submariner at a first glance. Which is not a bad thing, the Rolex Submariner is a beautiful watch. The Grand Diver in comparison, while a nice looking watch, with the scallped edge bezel, and diver's head on the bracelet, would hardly be mistaken for a Rolex submariner.

Invicta does make another watch that is an upgrade from the popular Pro Diver 8926. It is the Swiss Automatic Pro Diver 9937. It is the same size as the 8926, has a 25 jewel movement, instead of the 8926 21 jewels, or the 4469's 26 jewels, and a scalloped bezel. The 9937 is a nice watch and gets good reviews as an upgrade from the 8926 for automatic watch fans. Nevertheless, the 4469 is more watch in every respect.. and when I bought the 4469, it was the same price as the 9937.

5.0 out of 5 stars Invicta 4469, March 29, 2008
This is a magnificent watch. It can be compared to much more expensive watches like the Rolex submariner. I love the weight of the watch as well as its looks and its size. If you are planning to buy the Invicta Pro diver 8926 or the 9937 but can afford the 4469, do not think it twice, there is no comparison. This watch is outstanding and it is being sold at an incredible price.

It is important to point out that for people who have small wrists, the 4469 may seem a little bit too big. I have a regular wrist and it looks fantastic.

I will definitely buy again from Great Timing. The shipping was very fast and the overall service was great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value, May 8, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this watch after seeing a coworker's grand diver. I couldn't be more satisfied. This watch is a great value! I have worn all the high-end brands and the Invicta clearly stands tall with all of them. I bought this model to save wear and tear on my more expensive ones and it fits that purpose perfectly. Two things I would pass on to prospective buyers are: 1) this is a very heavy watch. If you don't like heavy watches, best to look at something else. 2) when you screw and pull out the crown it has a very delicate feel to it. I felt like I was going to pull it out in my hand the first time I set the watch. Once screwed in, it's totally solid.
