4.0 out of 5 stars Nice watch, but it has an entirely inadequate product manual
This is my second Invicta watch, and I think this one looks and feels very impressive. The bracelet has a very nice heft to it, and the watch face is a beautiful dark blue color which is offset by the smooth stainless bezel. I think it looks and feels as if it should cost 2 to 3 times as much as I paid for it.

Now for the wretched manual. Invicta, in an...

3.0 out of 5 stars looks nice
this watch looks nice, smaller than what I expected, but the major problem with it was 1 day after I got the watch started to delay time by 20 mins.; I thought it might be the battery and as recommended by Amazon.com, I took it to a watch store and changed the battery , 1 day later started to do it again ....I didn't take anymore chances and return it to amazon.com. 4.0 out of 5 stars Nice watch, but it has an entirely inadequate product manual, June 7, 2006
This review is from: Invicta Men's 2876 II Collection Multi-Function Watch (Watch)

Invicta, in an apparent cost-cutting move, has decided to have a one-size-fits-all product manual. So everything from simple time-only watches, to time and date, to time and day and date, to chronograph, to moon-phase etc. watches all get the same manual. I suppose this might be forgiveable if the instructions were well-outlined,detailed, and comprehensive. Regrettably, this is not the case.

So how hard can it be to use a watch, you ask? Well, here's the thing... The 2876 has the main dial, and three tiny dials on the lower part of the face. The time of day is obviously set by pulling on the crown and turning the hands - like normal. The top button on the right side depresses to advance the day of the month by one and the bottom button advances the 24 hour hand in the center position (there is no additional functionality beyond simple setting for either the top or bottom buttons). So how do you set the third dial on the left? The manual shows some watches in which the crown pulls out two "stops" - but that isn't the case with this one. The manual shows that the third tiny watch dial is often controlled by a third button on the left side of the watch. No such button on this watch.

I went to the Invicta watch site to try to find a specific manual for this watch. No such manual exists (nor do any manuals appear on the site from what I could tell). No e-mail address for customer support, either (though there is an 800 number).

By sheer chance, I advanced the watch using the center crown by twenty-four hours, and it clicked to the next day of the week on the third crown. Nowhere in the manual was this mentioned at all. I suppose it might be common sense, but I would think that the 24 hour dial might be a better candidate to coordiniate with the main clock hands than the day of the week (freeing up the bottom button to advance day of the week instead).

Now that I've figured out how to set it, I'm quite happy with the watch. If they had included adequate instructions, I would gladly have given it 5 of 5 for a watch in its price range.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Watch....But It Loses Time, November 2, 2006
By
This review is from: Invicta Men's 2876 II Collection Multi-Function Watch (Watch)
Maybe its the battery, but it tends to lose time easily. I bought it during one of Amazon's Friday sales, so it might have been sitting on the shelf a long time. It looks great, I get compliments on it all the time. I'd give it a 5 for looks, but so far, 3 on performance.

3.0 out of 5 stars looks nice, January 12, 2007

this watch looks nice, smaller than what I expected, but the major problem with it was 1 day after I got the watch started to delay time by 20 mins.; I thought it might be the battery and as recommended by Amazon.com, I took it to a watch store and changed the battery , 1 day later started to do it again ....I didn't take anymore chances and return it to amazon.com. The only positive thing about this experience is that I returned it for a full refund and didn't have to pay for shipping. I already bought my new seiko from amazon.com

2.0 out of 5 stars Like the watch, have issues with how it works, detest service, August 8, 2008
This review is from: Invicta Men's 2876 II Collection Multi-Function Watch (Watch)
I purchased this watch as a Christmas gift last year. A+ to Amazon for their shipping, handling and all round transaction.

I really love the look of the watch. It is just the right size and weight for me. I really like the color as well. That's the ONLY reason I gave it 2 stars.

There are complaints about the weight and I found it perfect. The common complaint about the dial size was another issue. Personally I was fine with the size of it.

But I should have taken the "LOSE TIME" complaint seriously. I started having issues with the watch after a couple weeks. But it quickly went away and I was OK until about a month ago. I called Invicta and explained the problem and was told to replace the battery. That never fixed the problem so I called Invicta again to have the watch repaired.

Their policies are a JOKE. I had to spend $6 to replace a battery on their recommendation, $8 to ship it to them and they will then bill me a further $20 to ship it back. So basically I paid $90 for a watch and I'm in the process of spending over $30 to have a manufacturer's defect repaired. To make it worse, it will be about 2 to 3 months before I get my watch back.

I called customer service and spoke to a manager about my complaint and he basically said it's policy, and "too bad."

I really like the look of the watch, but I wished I never bought the watch, and will likely sell it or give it away when I get it back. I recommend looking elsewhere.

3.0 out of 5 stars Handsom Watch with a couple of down sides...., January 13, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Invicta Men's 2876 II Collection Multi-Function Watch (Watch)
To clarify others reviews, the watch face is blue but will appear purple under incandescent lighting and blue under florescent. Setting the time and date is actually pretty easy - the data and 24hr smaller displays are set by pushing the smaller A and B crowns until the correct settings are achieved. The day of the week is set by twisting the crown and will move the day for every 24hr period.

This is a handsome watch. It is a bit thick, but not overly so. If you want a thin light watch - this one isn't for you. You'll feel its weight on your wrist. The date, day and 24hr faces are difficult to see unless you look at them at a narrow angle. The face states that is is "Swiss Movmt" which basically means that it does "NOT" meet the requirement of the Swiss government to have the true "Swiss Movement" label printed on its face. 50% of a watch has to be made in Switzerland and assembled there - it is unclear if it was. It does likely have Swiss Movement but was not either assembled in Switzerland or less than 50% of its parts were made there, but that is only a guess.

Overall, it is a nice watch but I do have one large sticking point - it seems to be loosing a second every 30-36 hours. I'm going to change the battery and if it is still loosing time I will send it to Invicta for repair.

********* Update 1.27.2008 ************

Got the battery replaced at a local watch shop that happens to be an Invicta authorized dealer. Low and behold, after 2 weeks it hasn't lost a second. I now have revised my rating to 4 (****) stars. The only down side I now see is the hard to read 24hr, day and date hands.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful watch..., July 4, 2006
This review is from: Invicta Men's 2876 II Collection Multi-Function Watch (Watch)
Pro - This watch is very nice looking. It has a sapphire crystal which is very nice and the isa movement will keep accurate time for years to come.

Con - The clasp looks good but feels very cheap. The stamped bracket feels very weak.

Over all a great looking watch with slight flaws but for the money it can't be beat.

1.0 out of 5 stars Had this watch for 2 weeks and it already broke!!!, January 2, 2007
This review is from: Invicta Men's 2876 II Collection Multi-Function Watch (Watch)
This is my first invicta watch and probably my last. It was delivered in a very nice looking box.

The watch looks beautiful and it has a very nice weight to it.

Well after 2 weeks i started having problems with it. First the main dial used to adjust the min and hr started pulling out by itself. It happen like 3 times so i just thought it was my fault because i kept putting my hands in my pocket. Which might cause the dial to get caught in the jean. So i stopped putting my hand in my pocket. But it still happens. Then one day it just died. i'm glad i can still return it.

but i'm very disappointed because its a very nice watch for the price.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice but very thick, December 25, 2006

This review is from: Invicta Men's 2876 II Collection Multi-Function Watch (Watch)
Note: Many of today's better watches are thick, but here are my thoughts on this watch.

The watch is beautiful, but looking at the side of it, the watch is VERY thick. I have a self-winding Seko dive watch, and of all my watchs, the self-winding watch is the only one thicker than this watch -- but not much thicker. In my opinion, it is stange that this watch is as thick as a self-winding dive watch. I have always considered the Seko dive watch to be too thick for normal day-to-day wearing, so I guess this watch could be considered too thick for normal use except by those with extra-large wrists. The picture does not show this of course; it really needs a side angle.

Believe me ... it is probably thicker than you expect or want. Look at the specs. The band is a nice 20mm wide, but the case thickness is 11mm. The thickness of the case is over half of the width of the band !!

This is a great watch for someone looking for something stylish at a great value. I have had many compliments on the watch since I started wearing it. I even took it to a jeweler to have a link taken out of the band and he mentioned that it was a nice Invicta. They had Invicta watches in their display case so it wasn't like he didn't know what he was looking at. Highly recommended.
