5.0 out of 5 stars Better looking in person!!!!!
I'm a watch guy. I believe that the only jewelery a man should where besides his wedding ring (if he must) is a watch. I collect them and resell them to pay for my own collection. I bought this watch in blue and was so impressed by the look, it sold me on Invictas! It is absolutely gorgeous and looking at it online does not do it any justice. This watch sells everywhere...

1.0 out of 5 stars Very unhappy with purchase.............
I have to say I was excited when watch arrived at house. Right away I adjusted the band to fit my wrist. Watch worked for 20 minutes. I'm guessing a dead battery. Watch states on face Swiss Movt. Open back to find out what battery I need to purchase and was amazed at what I found. Stamped right inside "Movement China". So cheaply made, it's a joke. Amazon's return...

1.0 out of 5 stars Very unhappy with purchase............., September 4, 2008

I have to say I was excited when watch arrived at house. Right away I adjusted the band to fit my wrist. Watch worked for 20 minutes. I'm guessing a dead battery. Watch states on face Swiss Movt. Open back to find out what battery I need to purchase and was amazed at what I found. Stamped right inside "Movement China". So cheaply made, it's a joke. Amazon's return policy states that if band is adjusted. No Return Accepted. So I am stuck with this watch that I think worth about $20. This is not a $400 watch. Not even worth the $70 I paid. You pay for what you get. It was to good to be true. BTW I own over fifty watches. Mostly Citizen, so I know a good watch from a bad one.

This watch sells everywhere else, except ebay for close to $125 + shipping. The blue face one goes with more clothing but this one is an eye catcher and if you can pull it off, go for it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Invicta Watch Red Tone Dial. Quality Control?, May 6, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Invicta Men's 4242 II Collection Silver-Tone Red Dial Watch (Watch)
Watch arrived looking and great and feeling substantial on the wrist. Unfortunately it started losing time about 2 weeks after it arrived, and a check of the batteries revealed that the problem was not so simple. It's now back at the company for service (they at least acknowledged receipt!). Apparantly, better quality control is needed! Of course, this is just a sample size of one....

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Watch, August 23, 2007
By
This review is from: Invicta Men's 4242 II Collection Silver-Tone Red Dial Watch (Watch)
The red dial and polished stainless case make this a very attractive watch, and the price makes it even more so. However, I do have a couple negative comments.
1. The numbers/letters on the date/hour/day dials are too small. In bright light they're readable, but barely.
2. I found it almost impossible to remove the screws necessary to remove links, even with a set of jeweler's screw drivers. I finally gave up, took the whole bracelet off and replaced it with a dark brown leather strap. It makes the watch even more attractive.
3. The instructions are a waste of paper. Fortunately, it's not to difficult to figure out.

2.0 out of 5 stars Thumbs down, September 16, 2008
This review is from: Invicta Men's 4242 II Collection Silver-Tone Red Dial Watch (Watch)
I've now had this watch for about a year, & would like to suggest others to avoid it. From day one, out of the box, the item could not keep the correct date! I could have had this serviced from Invicta, but that would have cost the rip-off free of $20 in S&H! Yes, they charge a flat fee of $20 in S&H to ship your watch back to you. Considering $20 is around 30% of how much I paid for the item, that seems ridiculous.

Over the past few months, the glass covering the watch face has cracked, big time, and has a huge streak on it. I've had cheap $5/$10 watches that have never done this, yet this expensive watch did it?

While this watch looks great in person, it's not worth the potential headaches it might give you. My verdict - avoid!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a beautiful timepiece, July 21, 2007

I just received this watch, and was lucky enough to get it during the Friday sale. Pictures do not do it justice. You will be quite thrilled with the quality of not only the watch, but the very beautiful band it comes with. Beautifully crafted and packaged. I have been validating the accuracy of its timekeeping ability with an extremely accurate watch I own and it has kept time beautifully for about 1 week now. You will not be disapointed when you purchase this watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Watch, June 10, 2007

This review is from: Invicta Men's 4242 II Collection Silver-Tone Red Dial Watch (Watch)
This watch is unique in design and color. The red color is eye catching to say the least. It has a push button fold over clasp that I love. It releases easily (but not accidentally). This is a very nicely made Swiss movement watch with a beautifully polished stainless steel band and case.

I wear this watch regulary and continually get positive comments about it. I would recommend it for anyone who likes a watch with a solid/heavy feel.

I recommend purchasing a band link tool to adjust the length of the watch band for this and other watches. The link is below.

Solid Build, grand looking, though not a Swiss made movement (I don't think I can buy a SWISS MADE movement watch with this price)

I thought the watch was worth the money, but the day of the week and date of the month are simply too small to read.

Very nice watch. But needed a jeweler to shrink the watch band. $10.00 fee for that. Intructions supplied with watch are not adequate to change settings or battery.
