5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value for a Good Performering Watch
I read many reviews and looked at a wide range of Invicta watches before settling on this one as my choice for an everyday watch that keeps good time. I have not been disappointed. 1.0 out of 5 stars Beware before you buy
I bought this watch thinking that Invicta made premium high-end watches. I am very disappointed as my watch just died after about 15 mos. The watch was lightly used and basically pampered, appearing brand new. My emphasis is on the fact that the watch was in no way abused. I then sent the watch back to Invicta for repairs and they wanted $48 to fix it, including a...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value for a Good Performering Watch, February 8, 2008

I read many reviews and looked at a wide range of Invicta watches before settling on this one as my choice for an everyday watch that keeps good time. I have not been disappointed. Invicta is offering some great values for people who want a nice looking watch that works well. I just bought another one (different style) as a birthday gift for my brother.

As many others have remarked, the watch looks even better in person and the presentation case is indeed impressive making for a great gift. The bevel is fully functional, and the stem screws in and out with ease and should not not break if one follows instructions and restrains from unnecessary force. The band is very nice and comfortable. I like the double latch. Most importantly, I set it to an atomic clock and it keeps very accurate time within a second or two a week.

The next time I buy a watch I will look to Invicta first. If you're wondering whether or not to give it a try, go ahead. By the way, I don't think anyone can get close to the prices I found on Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Watch, but the description is slightly off (as was delivery), September 29, 2011
This review is from: Invicta Men's 9309 Pro Diver Collection Watch (Watch)
I purchased an INVICTA model 9309 (black dial) from Amazon almost 10 months ago (Dec 2010) and shortly thereafter I also purchased a very similar INVICTA model 9310 (blue dial). The 9309 arrived very quickly in less than 48 hours, but the 9310 took a full 6 days to arrive - supposedly due to Christmas season shipping volumes (the arrival should have been before a few days before Dec 25th, but the actual arrival was after the 25th). Then again, the shipping was "free" as I recall, making it difficult to ask Amazon for my money back on the shipping charges.

The watches themselves are both excellent. Both models show a high level of workmanship using quality materials, and I think they display an excellent standard of "fit'n finish" (to borrow an automotive term). They also exude that weighty sort of metallic density, typical of much more expensive mens' watches. Unlike some purchasers, I have had no problems at all with the gold plating on the bezel or on the band links wearing off. And the mineral crystal has withstood some moderately rough treatment over 10 months of frequent wear, so far without any significant scratches to show for it. Both watches have a quartz-based "Swiss Movement" and these 2 words are printed at the 6:00 mark (in a font size meant for those with very good eyes!).

Even by the high accuracy levels of most quartz-based watch movements, both the INVICTA 9309 and the 9310 seem to have kept truly excellent time over the last 10 months. My informal comparison checks against the time.gov website show deviations (with both watches erring in the fast direction) of not more than 2 seconds per week for the 9310, and maybe 3 seconds per week for the model 9309. The daily time deviations appear to be too small (< 1 sec/day) for doing meaningful "eyeball" measurements over periods of less than one week. Speaking only as a watch novice, this seems to be a very good level of accuracy for $85 watches - really, I would say it's great for any non-scientific watch. Whether the quartz movements are truly Swiss, or just a mix of parts assembled elsewhere using certain Swiss content (as some have claimed) it's clear that someone/somewhere has done a very good job with the parts at hand.

One minor problem with the model 9309 description is that it claims the 9309 features a "sweep second hand" - but this is totally untrue! The second hand moves in very distinct, discrete one second steps, like most quartz watches. There is nothing "sweeping" about it. The description also suggests that all INVICTA Pro Diver watches have either a "Swiss chronograph or 21-jewel automatic movement". I don't think the 9309 has either of these. Some descriptions claim a 43mm case diameter for the 9309, others say 40mm. I think it is 40mm without the crown, and 43mm if counting the crown.

Now I'm interested in trying an Automatic watch...

4.0 out of 5 stars Affordable Rolex Submariner look, but not all they say it is., March 22, 2011

If you'd rather spend $80 than $5,000 - $25,000 to get a near replica of a Rolex Submariner, you came to the right place. It looks great, feels great, and keeps accurate time (this particular model is a Swiss quartz, so it should!) Two nits: First of all, it does NOT have a "screw down crown" for diving and I would bet submersing it completely underwater for more than a minute would kill it. The advertising is a little misleading regarding this. Like most watches, it is only water RESISTANT. Second, the environmentally friendly substance they use to make the hands and numbers luminescent in the dark is a complete failure. (Yes, I exposed it to a light bulb for hours and it didn't "take"). You cannot tell time on this watch in the dark and that is VERY disappointing. Still, for 80 bucks it looks great, keeps great time, and never needs winding.

I bought this watch thinking that Invicta made premium high-end watches. I am very disappointed as my watch just died after about 15 mos. The watch was lightly used and basically pampered, appearing brand new. My emphasis is on the fact that the watch was in no way abused. I then sent the watch back to Invicta for repairs and they wanted $48 to fix it, including a rip-off price of $28 for S & H. The representative I dealt with, on top of it, was unyielding, blunt and unapologetic. They furthermore refused any type of extended warranty if I consented to fix the watch. There's no way I'm going to invest about half of the watch's purchase price to fix it just to have it die again after minimal use. I consider this watch and brand to be junk and think that if you want reliability, don't buy it. I've had better luck with so-called cheap brands like Guess and Casio. If you buy one, don't say you weren't warned.

I gave the as a gift and was very pleased with the watch when it arrived. I have a few Invicta's but they are all automatics. This one is battery powered. This makes it a bit thinner which in my opinion makes it a more comfortable watch. Looks great and if history proves correct will run flawlessly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a bad watch for the price, May 9, 2009

I really like the looks of this watch and I have to say it seems to keep perfect time. I am concerned over the raised magnifier for the date window and I really am disappointed in the softness of the band (the band scratches really easy and the gold trim is already worn off after 4 weeks of wear. But still not a bad every day/work watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't go wrong, April 12, 2008
This review is from: Invicta Men's 9309 Pro Diver Collection Watch (Watch)
You won't find a better value for the money. I wanted a watch w/ a swiss movement and after doing some looking around, I kept coming back to this one. Well made and keeps accurate time. Sharp looking too. The only thing that I don't like is that the date magnifier is adhered to the top of the crystal. (there's the potential that it could fall/break off) If you want to buy a casual watch and not spend a boatload of cash, you can't go wrong with this one.

I love the watch. My only complaint is that the luminous hands do not stay bright very long regardless of what light source I leave them under.
