5.0 out of 5 stars Nice large watch
I purchased this watch as addition to my collection of affordable watches that I don't just store in box but also can wear.
This watch is large at 52mm but it is not uncomfortable on wrist. The weight is amazing for its size. The numbers and hands are very bright at night and can be clearly seen.
The rubber bracelet is very comfortable and not irritating...

Dont get me wrong I like this watch and its got a massive 52 mm case. My only problem is that its not swiss made like the watch in the picture , insted it says swiss movt. which means the movt is swiss but it was made in China and not subjected to the superior quality control standards of the Swiss. So anyways I checked the model numbers just to make sure It was the same watch and it was but I suspect the watch in the picture is a older version but since then Invicta has cheaped out and started making them in China to save money , but the retail asking price is the same $ 575.00 which seems kind of shady to me.
Since my original review amazon has corrected and updated their pictures to say " swiss movt " insted.

I purchased this watch as addition to my collection of affordable watches that I don't just store in box but also can wear.
This watch is large at 52mm but it is not uncomfortable on wrist. The weight is amazing for its size. The numbers and hands are very bright at night and can be clearly seen.
The rubber bracelet is very comfortable and not irritating skin. However, it is unusual short for the watch this size. I have wear it on the third hole from the end. But it's not a problem (at least from me) but some people with larger hands might not be able to fit this watch.
The price is also right in a spot for quart movement swiss made watch. If you can see my previous reviews, I always like quartz watches (though recently I purchased few mechanical watches). I am "time-accuracy freak" so having perfect time is must for me and this watch keeps perfect time.
The only thing that this watch is missing is a second hand. But because I am not wearing this watch at time when seconds play much difference, I am ok with it as well.
I am highly recommending this watch to men with medium to large size arm/wrist. Men with small hand may find this watch too heavy and too large.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great diver's watch, September 4, 2007
This review is from: Invicta Men's 4338 Russian Diver Collection Black Watch (Watch)
If you are looking for a nice, somewhat dressy looking diver's watch, this might fit your needs. While the yellow or orange are certainly showy, this one is just casual enough but does not look as if you just came out of the water. I have been wearing mine for three days now and am really enjoying it. It is a large watch but is not uncomfortable. You will certanly have no trouble seeing the time during the day or night (nor will anyone else that is sitting around you). It is holding good time and I assume that it will continue to do so. If you are looking for a nice price on a big diver, take a closer look at this watch.

3.0 out of 5 stars Eye Catching, January 18, 2010

This review is from: Invicta Men's 4338 Russian Diver Collection Black Watch (Watch)
Coming out of the box, the Quinotaur #4338 from Invicta's Russian Diver line leaves quite an impression. With its canteen cap styling, 52mm (a little over 2") stainless steel casing, and large face, this watch impressively makes a statement. This lineup closely resembles a couple of watches I own from a much older watch company called Tauchmeister of Germany.

Besides the size, the number one thing that sold me on this watch is its luminous features. A nice green glow highlights the hands, outer ring and numbers. Even the Russian Diver logo, company tag and date box are illuminated. The large numbers definitely stand out. Obviously missing is the second hand.

Encased in this stealthy timepiece is Swiss movement. The side edging offers a nice refined finish. Sadly, the designers totally missed the boat on the black rubber strap. The strap's eye catching roller/barrel inserts are a nice addition but don't make up for the short length. Cosmetically marketed as a diver's watch, I'm sure that serious divers already know better.

The Invicta Quinotaur Russian Divers Watch come nicely packaged and includes a one year manufacturer's warranty, a five year extended warranty application and product ID card. Florida based Invicta sports a very upscale website with customer support numbers and email links. A repair pricing chart and shipping charges are also posted. The shipping charges are eye opening to say the least.

Don't hold your breath when trying to reach Invicta customer service via the toll free telephone number or email. On various tries via telephone the operator answers and transfers me over to customer service. With wait times anywhere between 10 and 15 minutes I got nothing. No music, no nada. Just clicking and dead air. Its now been over three weeks waiting for a reply to my inquiry via email. That said, its a given that customer service is not a big priority with this company.

Undoubtedly, the Invicta Quinotaur brings it home nicely. Even without the second hand I'm quite impressed with this watch. Unfortunately the strap drops the overall rating of this gem. The folks at Invicta lose major style points for zero customer service. With that in mind, its a given that I will not be purchasing or recommending Invicta products.

5.0 out of 5 stars SIMPLICITY AS AN ART FORM, December 14, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Invicta Men's 4338 Russian Diver Collection Black Watch (Watch)
I almost passed over this beauty because I normally like more complicated dials such as chronographs. While searching the web for watches, every time I saw this watch I stopped and stared. This watch is art in simplified form. It doesn't even have a second hand! The big black face and narrow bezel showcase the oversized arabic numerals and large markers all done in luminous green. Everything you see on the dial is luminous, and I mean everything!- including the divers helmet, the Invicta name, every letter, and even the date window is outlined. To top it off the entire face is encircled with a luminous band. Awesome. No other watch lights up like this one. On the side of the case opposite the crown is the engraved Invicta name. The rubber strap is high quality and extra thick. The bezel, case, barrel inserts, and buckle, have the appearance of polished black onyx against the flat black color of the strap. The coin edging around the bezel looks great from the side. Another thing Invicta is doing right is that as they make the larger watches they are keeping all of the dimensions proportional. As they get wider they also increase in depth sitting higher on the wrist. I've seen other brands that look like little flat pancakes from the side. Not appealing to me. Invicta watches are great quality overall. If your getting into large watches no one has more styles than Invicta, and that goes for their regular size watches as well. By the way I have a 7 1/4 inch wrist which is small, and I can wear up to 52mm in the Invicta line. Don't be afraid to give the larger watches a try. Good luck!

5.0 out of 5 stars Big and Bold..., January 12, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Invicta Men's 4338 Russian Diver Collection Black Watch (Watch)
I had been planning on purchasing a new watch for a while now. I don't normally wear watches, instead I just use a cell phone to get the time. But my new phone has a screen lock that is a bit of a hassle to get unlocked JUST in order to see the time, so I started looking for a watch.

I have seen different Invicta watches on Amazon before and really liked some of them. I didn't know much about them so I started doing some research and found that most people say the quality is very good for the price.

After looking at quite a few of them on the Invicta Store here on Amazon I stumbled across the Russian Diver. I really liked the looks of it as soon as I saw it. Then I saw the size at 52mm and was a bit startled. That's a LOT of watch!!!

I ended up ordering it while it was a Deal of the Day and I'm really happy I did. As usual, shipping was super fast and the packaging was exceptional.

When I opened the watch I was immediately taken by the size of the watch. 52mm as a size seems large when you're using a ruler...but when you actually see the size of this gigantic watch it will probably catch you off guard. Not only is it wide, it's also pretty "deep." What I mean by that is it sticks off of your wrist quite a bit.

The face of it is beautiful. Every detail of it just works. The numbers fit with the face perfectly, the hands fit perfectly, the date fits in wonderfully and doesn't look out of place, and the green surround offsets the black of the watch excellently.

The black metal is awesome. It's shiny and subtle at the same time, which in my opinion is great because you need the color to be slightly subtle on a watch this size.

I've read many opinions on different websites that suggest that the chain for the canteen cover doesn't fit the watch very well, but I disagree. I think the chain does a great job of finishing off the overall aesthetic of the piece. I wouldn't ever think of taking the chain off of mine.

The overall weight of the watch on the wrist is definitely more than I'm used to. Like I said, I don't normally wear watches and when I do they aren't anywhere near as large as this one. The weight takes some getting used to, definitely.

I've only had the watch for a short while, but I've already gotten several compliments on it. It's definitely a piece that draws attention to it. People see you and are instantly drawn to it.

All in all, I'm extremely pleased with the purchase. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Invicta watch, and the 5 year warranty that comes with the timepiece through Amazon is a wonderful addition.

1.0 out of 5 stars Well...the price tells you everything..., September 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Invicta Men's 4338 Russian Diver Collection Black Watch (Watch)
I was really glad when I got the watch because I have waited for it something like 2 months, since Amazon.com chould not send it to Europe and had to choose one friend in USA which chould deliver the watch for me...but any...continu with the review

PRO'S:
Presentation of the watch is very nice, the box is stady, nice yellow look, it's simple and big, very big but it has a very nice look on the hand.

CON'S:

The black screw on the right side of the watch can leave a red mark on your hand if you wear it for a long time and it you move your hand a lot. It could have been placed on the left side as a solution...

Read the back of the watch, it is said that it's fully stainless steal...but...as a surprize for you...after wearing it for 4 times and black pain on the elements on the bracelet started to peal leaving small black pieces on my hand. After checking it carefully I've realized that the pain was going off...HOW LOW CAN IT BE? After wearing it 4 times?

What else can I say...low price...unfortunatelly very low quality. Sorry Invicta...

5.0 out of 5 stars big, awesome watch, February 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Invicta Men's 4338 Russian Diver Collection Black Watch (Watch)
I love this watch. the chain attached to the crown that unscrews is a cool detail that makes the watch very unique. another thing that makes it unique; its HUGE. I'm 6'4, 240 pounds, so I was looking for a big watch on here. I was very happy when I saw that it filled up a good space on my wrist, most watches look smaller or normal on me because I'm a bigger guy, but this one stands out. It's all black, so it's definitely sleek, but gets attention all on its own as well. Great watch and for the price (Invictas can go for 700 or more, depending on the model), I was extremely happy with my purchase.

Just received my Russian Diver from UPS. This watch is big, black, and beautiful. Nice presentation and boxing as usual. Not my first Invicta. However, when I unscrewed the safety cap and pulled out the crown to set the time, the crown came out and into my hand, broken. Will return and re-order to try again as Amazon is AAA+ when returns are needed. Will check back when I get the replacement.

This it's my first Invicta watch.

I have no majors complains about it, the usual said here:

I wear it to the third wirst band.

the only complain it's that the black finnish it's very delicate, i hit my watch with a concrete surface (working under the kitchen sink) a very light hit and 2 scratch marks where made.

I recomend the Stainless steel version if you plan to use it as your daily watch.
