Brings back memories of the mid-70's,

While watching the movie "Invincible" at the theater, the music really stood out because it totally captured the mood of the mid-1970's time period in which it's set. Just hearing these songs that were popular when I was entering my teens brought back lots of great memories.
This CD brings together a number of 1970's hits in one place, giving you a great disc to play when you're in the mood to reminisce about a simpler time. The music really complements the movie but it's also a great stand-alone disc for your collection.

Not being a football fan I watched the movie Invincible only at the persistant urging of a friend. I came away with a real appreciation of both the movie and the true story upon which it is based. As I was watching I couldn't help but notice that the music chosen to set the mood of the time was absolutely perfect. The producers chose these songs carefully, avoiding the trap of simply looking at a Top 40 list for the exact period the movie represents. Instead the songs represent good songs from the era that we may not have heard lately. The effect is dramatic; listening to this soundtrack I'm transported back to 1976 (and feel as if I'm listening to the radio in my old Chevy Malibu).
If you haven't seen the movie let me please recommend Invincible, the true-life story of a 30 year old man that became a NFL player. If you want an inexpensive form of time travel to take you back to the mid '70s you could do no better than this CD.

GREAT NOSTALGIAFEST,

The Invincible Soundtrack is a great collection of pop and rock hits from the 1970s that are quite hard to find in CD stores. The songs bring back wonderful childhood memories that I seem to want to rekindle as I grow older.
Included is the never-played LP version of Elvin Bishop's Fooled Around and Fell in Love, which IMHO, is better than the 45 version that has been reproduced in the Have A Nice Day sets and the like. That extra minute and a half highlights the guitar strutting of Mr. Bishop which accompanied Mickey Thomas' vocals and the laid-back yet energetic drumming quite well. Invincible is also the most immediate source I know of that has the classic 1975 track, How Long, by Ace, which you cannot directly download from I-Tunes or Rhapsody. Rare Earth's I Just Want to Celebrate is also another increasingly hard to find recording that is featured. Great pop songs, such as the introductory I Got a Name by Jim Croce and Mandolin Wind by Rod Stewart, serve as reminders in this soundtrack of the wonderful songwriter decade that was the 1970s, which was also a period of high energy guitar rock, as well showcased by Bachman Turner Overdrive and Canned Heat. Rounding out the rest is the Ted Nugent classic, Stranglehold, a tune that is not so repetitive, lyricwise, as his ubiquitous Cat Scratch Fever and that has me thinking of World Class Championship Wrestling, when the Von Erichs used it right before their ring introductions. If you love the 1970s but hate the disco from that period, this is an ideal collection for you.

The music is awesome! It brings you right back into the 1970's were you can actually feel the atmosphere. You can't help but think of childhood or teenage memories and smile as you listen to this CD. There is a song on this CD for everyone-regardless of your age.

A solid collection of hits from various artists. Many of these songs
receive little or no airplay these days (2007), so the music sounds fresh. My personal favorites are tracks by Ace (featuring Paul Carrack) and Ted Nugent. Re-discover, reminisce, re-live, rewind, and replay...you'll do it all.

This is a great soundtrack. The only way it could have been better is to have had more Jim Croce tunes on it. Overall it is a great feel good kind of music cd and will be enjoyed by most listeners.

The heart and soul of these songs blend perfectly with the spirit of the movie! Vince's story is inspirational and this music was terrific.
