Great new music with a fresh sound, January 22, 2003
This review is from: Invisible Bridge (Audio CD)
I found this CD immediately likeable and have been listening to it almost non-stop in my car. Stan Snow's songs are well-crafted and the production on this disc is great. This CD represents all that music should be today but so often isn't: Catchy songs that are easy to listen too without being overly simplistic or to commercial, and with meaningful, original lyrics. This is in stark contrast to the overly electronic, heavily sampled pop-techno garbage that is so predominant on the radio today. The best part is that there are no electronic or synthesized sounds, this is all the real deal: acoustic and electric guitars, bass, piano, drums and even some mandolin and violin, played by top notch musicians. The mix is well-balanced, allowing the ring of the acoustic instruments to be heard through the overall sound of the band. Incidentally, the musicians on this disc are all top-notch. The sound is reminiscent of some of the best singer-songwriter albums from the mid-70's, which was a peak time for music in my opinion. I would highly recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys music by the likes of James Taylor, Jackson Browne, or any of the great singer-songwriters of that era.
