Best item for ADD,

I am so impressed with this item. I keep it in my purse and no matter where I am in the office, I can hear the alarm that reminds me to take my medication. It has helped me tremendously. I am even using it to keep my self on schedule so that I get home at a certain time. It's made a great difference in my life.

A great little reminder!,

This is almost exactly what I've been looking for! Easy and intuitive to use, small, with good strong vibration and little audible noise; many alarm settings as well as a repeating countdown alarm; buttons that don't get pressed accidentally but are easy to use intentionally. The clip-on belt holder works quite well, holding it securely. It's small, almost unnoticeable to others. Easy to read display.Whether you need to remember to take your pills or perform some other task at regular intervals, this is a great device. Whether you are having issues with hearing other alarms, work in a very noisy environment where you couldn't hear something beep anyway, or just want something that will alert you without alerting or bothering others, this is as close to perfect as I've seen. I wish I could find a wristwatch that functions like and as well as this! I may rig up a strap to wear it on my wrist anyway (though the size and the button colors would make it a little obvious). Summary: As close to perfect as anything I've seen.

Does not keep time,
By
This review is from: Invisible Clock II - Vibrating Reminder (Health and Beauty)
I purchased this item for the vibrating reminder feature. It's a great concept, but the device does not keep time. After replacing the batteries (thought to be the cause of time-loss) with brand new ones, the timer was still off by several minutes at the end of the day. I've left it sit for three weeks and it's now over six hours off. Don't depend on this device to help you make it to meetings on time! Three sets of fresh batteries have not resolved the problem. It works OK as a countdown 'pill timer', but surely not worth the money for the other features if it can't keep time.

Nice Timer,

This review is from: Invisible Clock II - Vibrating Reminder (Health and Beauty)
I like this timer. Some people claim it's difficult to program but I disagree. It's a timer - not a PDA and it is no more awkward than any digital watch.Apart from that I use it for three things for which is it is well suited. 1) My 3 year old still needs to have Daddy stay with him when he goes to sleep at night. The problem is I fall asleep, sometimes for over 2 hours, while I wait for him to settle down. This timer is excellent in that I set it for 8:30 PM everyday, and set it to vibrate only. It's small and clips anywhere on my shirt and the little one does not see it and when it goes off it wakes me and not him. 2) I often give presentations at work and the meeting timer is good in that if I want to do a 30 minute presentation I enter it and it vibrates at 15 minutes, and then 25 minutes and finally at 30 mins. I know how much time I've taken and I always finish on time. 3) I brew beer as a hobby. Often you need to boil the wort for some time. and then add hops at different times during the boil. The custom timer is awesome for this. Admittedly this function does take a lot of patience with the instructions, but frankly once you get it down it's not too difficult. My only quibble is that I wished it went longer than just 60 mins.

Invisible Clock II,
This review is from: Invisible Clock II - Vibrating Reminder (Health and Beauty)
I bought this clock back around 2004 and it still works great. I dropped it once recently and cracked the window a little, but it still works. I use it to help me remember appointments and schedules. It is a great help. The battery lasts a long time. I was able to take it to other parts of the world with me. I am sorry for those whose clocks did not work. I would have sent them back. The clock was worth it for my needs.

Works well for me,

I have had mine for three years and use it daily, really. I feel it was worth the money. It does take some practice to program. Use a high powered camera AAA battery as a power source to keep time and use the vibrating function frequently. I have dropped mine many times and it's still ticking. I will not be without it. I use it for work and exercise. I have taken it apart once to clean the contacts behind the buttons.

I use it on a boat for safety when sailing,

It helps remind me to keep a look-out when I might otherwise lose track of time. I bought one of these Invisible Clock II units a few years ago and it works quite well. I can clip it to my pants belt or life vest strap like a pager and it will beep at whatever interval I set. When we are day sailing with guests I keep it on "vibrate" so they don't hear it, but it reminds me to check our blind spot (beyond the forward sail) every few minutes -- helpful in crowded areas when there are many boats out on the weekends. If going offshore you need to keep watch on the horizon less frequently, but you can have a major problem if you lose track of time and don't keep watch once in a while. The only negative is the battery life is only so-so, but it might be better if you don't use vibrate every 2 minutes like I do. I agree that the user interface might be confusing for some people, but it is well documented and considering the many functions and flexible options, I think they did a very good job of design.

Vibrating function only lasted 13 months!,

Great idea and execution; but the vibrating function broke after 13 months (used it for pacing office work). At least the alarm still works - I time my treadmill workout with it.

Flexible, Dependable, & Durable,
This review is from: Invisible Clock II - Vibrating Reminder (Health and Beauty)
I have owned one and used it 24 hours a day for over 3 1/2 years. I am in a wheelchair and need to routinely offload/shift my weight. The problem is, in the past I have always forgotten. This has allowed me to set any amount of continuous increments throughout the day (20 minutes) and then it shuts off automatically at 10:30 PM and doesn't start again until the next morning. I can also easily set it to simply vibrate during meetings, movies, etc.It takes a little time to figure out how to program it to that type of detail; but it's worth it. You can remind yourself as many, or as little, times a day -- anytime of the day. It also can set timers simply based on countdown increments. The buttons may be a little bigger than some of today's technology, that actually works better for me. However, I don't think it's a major detriment to anyone that needs this type of device. Lastly, as I said -- it is durable. Many times through the years I've dropped it with no problems whatsoever. The only reason I am back here purchasing another at this time is that no matter how durable it may be it could not withstand an electric wheelchair running directly over it :-) Highly recommended.

easy to use, many uses,

This review is from: Invisible Clock II - Vibrating Reminder (Health and Beauty)
This is my second timer. Not that the first one broke, it was either lost or stolen after many years of use. It is easy to use and more so with repeated use. The directions are easy to read and understandable to even to a middle school-er. For those here who found it difficult to use, not everyone is created equal despite what the constitution says.I use my timer for switching from pranayama to meditation. I've a programed beep with a gentle volume after 10 min. and finish up with a beep at the end with a few second remaining. This would be the one draw back. If you don't program a final alert at the end no sound, and well you could end up meditating to beyond bliss. LOL. But, all in all this timer has soo many uses it's a shame not to get one. However, the price is a little high, but I've found that you generally get what you pay for. |
