I had such high hopes for this product but I was disappointed. To begin with I wanted to hang an Italian hand painted 15 inch plate that seems to be glass. I ordered the 5.5 inch hanger due to the size of the plate and its weight which proved to be about 3 pounds. I cleaned the back of the plate as instructed with dishwashing liquid and I allowed it to air dry for over an hour. I proceeded to moisten the 5.5 inch disc but I was concerned about how much water was too much when the instructions said to moisten with the fingers. So I moistened the backing using two fingers and lukewarm water. I moistened the back until I felt the entire surface felt like it was slurry. I noted the time and I waited exactly 7 minutes as directed by the instructions. Feeling the glue was tacky I mounted the dics to the back of my plate and squeezed it out in all directions. I immediately noted that the edges did not seem to adhere to the plate but kept pressing the disc down in all directions. I finally let the plate sit on the counter face down so the disc could dry for 24 hours. Next day the disc held the weight of the plate and I hung the plate on the wall over my stove. All was well until the next morning when I awoke and found the plate wedged between the wall and the stove with the disc still hanging from the nail on the wall. I examined the plate for damage and there was none, thankfully. The disc's surface showed that not all areas of its surface stilled contained glue. I have no idea why this has happened. I don't care either because I am not convinced that this is the correct prouduct as I had once believed. I will hang the plate again but this time I will use a wire device and be assured that I have a good physical grip on the plate.

I really didn't have much faith that this product would work, but the glue on this and the pad itself are very strong and really cling to the surface, even a somewhat uneven surface. It molds itself to the surface and just doesn't let go. Just make sure you position it properly in the beginning, because it is almost impossible to adjust. I first tried this on an inexpensive plate and it worked so well that I decided to try it on a piece of art glass that I couldn't figure out how to display. It has been four months, and it is still hanging on tight and secure. The pad also provides some cushioning against the wall when hanging the item. A definite two thumbs up for this.

I am a potter and have used all sizes of the disc hanger available for displaying my work. It did take a try or two to figure out how much water to use to activate the back for mounting. I also use a spatula once mounted to really adhere it to the back of plates and get out all the air bubbles. I always let them dry overnight and test each plate before mounting it to the wall. I have *never* had a problem with anything falling off the wall. I also cut the larger hangers if I need a specific shape = customizable! And removing the disc is a breeze! I fill the kitchen sink with warm water and a touch of dish soap, submerge the piece and 5 minutes later it just comes off. The plate doesn't have any residue and there is no evidence that the disc was ever there! This is a great product, I've used over 50 of them and continue to use them!

Perfect way to hang even large decorative plates. Easy to apply and easy to remove if your decorating ideas change.

The product is a metal ring connected to a stiff piece of cloth coated with water-activated adhesive. It's trivial to attach and works perfectly.

While I haven't tried it, I suspect that adding more water should release it from the plate and that a damp cloth should remove any residue.

I love this product. I have a turkey platter that I had to make my own hanger for. I never really liked what I did. This large hanger is strong and PERFECT. I also bought smaller ones for all my hanging plates. Love them

Does what it says-it works~what more can you ask? Good product, only one small negative, the glue smells funky until it dries

I received by invisible plate hanger and it did everything it said it would do. I was able to get my plates up and they look amazing. Thanks again.

I used two of these on the large Williams and Sonoma Provence platter. I estimate the weight of the platter to be about 10lbs and the hangers seem very secure. The platter has been up for about a month now with no issues.

Simple to apply, seems very strong. Only complaint is that it's really hard to get the thing on straight as you have to apply it to the back of a round object. Wouldn't be an issue if your plate had a pattern, but mine had a picture and I ended up having to modify the hanger after the glue had dried. This is not a problem I would have had with a regular spring/wire plate hanger.
