Book Description

8 and up3 and up

My Life As Invisible Intestines (with Intense Indigestion) is book # 20 in the The Incredible Worlds of Wally McDoogle series. When Wally first becomes invisible (thanks to the handy-dandy OOPS Machine) it's great fun. Now he can do whatever he wants, like defending Opera by humiliating a bully, or helping the local football team come back from a 0-54 score. Then, of course, there's always giving Wall Street a hand in making her first million. . . . But the fun and games are short lived when everybody from a crazy ghost buster, to the FBI, to the 59 ½ Minutes TV show, to the neighbor's new dog (a cross between a grizzly bear and a Tyrannosaurs Rex) begin pursuing him. Soon Wally is stumbling and staggering through his greatest misadventure ever . . . until he finally learns that cheating and taking short cuts in life are not all they're cracked up to be. Until he learns that honesty really is the best policy.

More About the Author

Hi.
Thanks for checking up on me. Probably best to go over to my web site: www.Billmyers.com for biography information. And if you're really bored, there's my fan site over on Facebook:
www.facebook.com/pages/Bill-Myers/44983396181 Oh, and one last thing. If you're a student and your class reads one of my books, I'll do a 'meet the author' 30 min question and answer session by speakerphone with your class from my office here in California. If you're a reader's group, the same thing goes...in which case I'd recommend ELI to really get the discussion juices flowing - at least until THE GOD HATER comes out in 2010. Thanks for stopping by!

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiration for a Reluctant Reader!, March 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: My Life as Invisible Intestines with Intense Indigestion (The Incredible Worlds of Wally McDoogle #20) (Paperback)
My 10 year old son started out as what i call a "reluctant reader". He didn't want to learn to read when he was younger, it intimidated and frustrated him (and of course me-a lover of words). There seemed to be a delay of some sort, perhaps the dyslexia that afflicted some in my family? As a home educator on a tight budget I didn't have him tested and was reluctant to have him labeled. He was smart, articulate and had a good vocabulary and i did not want him to feel "less than" because the printed word didn't make sense to him. I felt deep in my heart that rather than push and prod and yell i needed to take it easy with him and eventually it would "click". It was scary but, as i tried to be patient and instill in him a love of words and fun idioms and word play he did start to understand the print more. He was more able to phonetically connect and sight read. He learned to eat the elephant one bite at a time (elephant is our term for pol·y·syl·lab·ic'words) :D Then he got the "My Life As" books about a boy, Wally McDoogle, who gets into ridiculously hilarious scenarios. They are full of fun and word play and my son cracks up while reading words he used to shy away from. These books have inspired my son to read for the pleasure of it, and he does so every day. Thanks Bill Myers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Indescribable! by A.C. From Annapolis, May 19, 2009
A Kid's Review
This review is from: My Life as Invisible Intestines with Intense Indigestion (The Incredible Worlds of Wally McDoogle #20) (Paperback)
If you like to laugh you should read the Wally McDoogle series, My Life as a Invisible Intestines number 20 by Bill Myers. The main characters are Wally, Opera, and Wall Street, and there main problem is Wally becoming invisible. My favorite character is Wally because he and I both love to read and write.

Wally reminds me of myself because in his free time he will type on his computer. The experience that I can relate to that is in the book is standing in the wrong place at the wrong time. My connection to the book is text-to-self because Wally, like myself, messes up often.

I liked the book because I can relate to it. My favorite part of the book is when Wally got zapped. I don't have a least favorite part of the book. If I could change one thing in the book I would not change anything. A boy or girl who is five and older and who likes humor will like this book.
