Celebrity stalker / killer, Roger Sands is serving a life sentence in a hospital for the criminally insane. Unfortunately, he has been studying psychic phenomena in his spare time. Sands is now able to leave the hospital by turning invisible! Now, he seeks to hunt down and strangle the women on his hit-list; all of whom are dancers, models, or actresses. All of these poor women remind Sands of his own actress mother, who refused to ever acknowledge that he was her son. Mum paid for this with her life, becoming Sands' first victim. Enter Robert Foxworth (Prophecy) as the cop who must stop Sands before he exacts his full revenge. THE ASTRAL FACTOR is not bad for a pre-Halloween / Friday The 13th serial killer-on-the-loose movie. The fact that the killer is invisible adds a bit of supernatural tension. The fact that both Elke Sommer and Stefanie Powers (Die! Die! My Darling!) are in it adds a lot of dee-lightful moments! Powers is especially good as Foxworthy's extremely playful girlfriend. At any rate, I liked this one enough to watch it twice in one day, but then I'm a sucker for junky movies...

Breathtakingly terrible movie with a few good actors and a few laughably camp moments. Got this one in the "50 Movie Sci Fi Classics" collection so it was under a buck, but still not really worth the money. And definitely NOT a classic! Stephanie Powers plays the detective's bimbo girlfriend and Elke Sommers plays one of the near-victims.

That way everyone knows you are coming.
Formula movie as part the 50 Movie Pack Sci-Fi Classics DVD collections. Yes I know it is just another invisible strangler movie (title: The Astral Factor). The story is of a deranged killer that has to kill any one the looks like his mother. To look like his mother all you have to do is look female and be in the tabloids. He was well pinned in a maximum security nut house until he discovered astral projection and other Para-psychic phenomenon. On the loose and invisible (don't we wish we all were) he is free to do the deed with impunity. However hot on his trail is Lt. Charles Barrett who suspects he is up against something more than your standard nutter. The only redeeming value of this movie is the many actors that were not quite over the hill at the time this movie was made yet were persuaded to take part: Robert Foxworth as Lt. Charles Barrett (The Questor Tapes (TV movie) - Questor) Stefanie Powers as Candy Barrett (Paper Man (TV movie) - Karen McMillan) Elke Sommer as Chris Hartman (A Shot in the Dark - Maria Gambrelli) "The Questor Tapes" Starring: Robert Foxworth, Mike Farrell
