Fun and Nostalgia For Miami Rock & Roll Radio Fans by Deejay Bob Gordon,
By Radio Fanatic (South Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Invisible Tears: How Do You Keep the Music Playing? (Paperback)
If you remember Miami radio back when "Rick Shaw was a compact car" or from anytime from the Rock & Roll era through the nineties, you'll enjoy this book. Kinda like Howard Stern's autobiography, except slightly cleaner (but definitely not G-Rated). There are stories about the celebrities he met, the scandals, the day-to-day grind, the contests and promotions... the works. Included are stories about Bob's stints at legendary WQAM and WFUN, plus WINZ, WFTL, WLQY, WWWL, WWOK, plus a few stations in Cincinnati and elsewhere. He writes just like he talks on the air ... funny. You can read a chapter about Bob's first Miami job at WQAM in the South Florida Radio History web site. (Just go there and search for Bob Gordon.)
