From Booklist
The title of this book is a rare instance of the phrase that distills the essence of a poet's work into a few precious words. Weinberger's project is indeed to limn the outlines of the invisible world so that we may become aware of it. Phenomena of that world include the ponderous movements of the loving heart, the thwarted need of children for perfect parents, and the deep desire of parents for intimacy with their children. Although her specific subjects are autobiographical, Weinberger's technique is like magical realism, transforming the world to better reveal it. Patricia Monaghan
