5.0 out of 5 stars niece condition
the book is in almost new condition and it was at a fraction of the prize of the one in my college. it took a little less than 2 weeks to deliver so you better but it a month before classes start.

3.0 out of 5 stars Kind of Difficult to Understand
This is the manual, so it should make things less confusing, but I find it's usually the opposite. This is the manual, so it should make things less confusing, but I find it's usually the opposite. My professor can explain it so fluidly, but this book makes it confusing to follow mathematically sometimes, as well as the Practice Problems being confusingly worded at times. Overall, I just use it for the practice problems and pay attention to my professor. You can still learn from this book, but you have to be more right-brain than I am to understand the flow.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly written and difficult to follow. Don't buy unless you are required., October 5, 2009
This book was required for an introductory computer science class at school and let me say that this book is terrible. The programming examples are HARD to follow, often there are two or more examples discussed at one time, and the authors jump around from example to example. Had I not had to buy this for school I would have returned it straight away to amazon because of how poorly it is written. It is a waste of time to read this book. I ended up purchasing another book on beginning C++ programming just so I could do the required homework for my class.

If you know the material, this book is for you. If not, get a different one, because this one is terrible!
