5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing is impossible
In reading "The Invitation" I was invited into a new style of Christian fiction. Much of what I've read previously has focused on pedestrian romances, historical drama and Christians who lead such perfect lives that they just seem "far too good to be true". 2.0 out of 5 stars Not Moser's Best
I have read several of Moser's books, and especially liked the Time Lottery series. I ordered The Invitation because of the good reviews and was very disappointed. Perhaps I have read too much Moser, because I am beginning to see the same basic template in all her work. Anyway, the characters in this book are very Disneyesque, and I could barely get through it. The...

In reading "The Invitation" I was invited into a new style of Christian fiction. Much of what I've read previously has focused on pedestrian romances, historical drama and Christians who lead such perfect lives that they just seem "far too good to be true". Nancy Moser introduces five very ordinary characters, each with real fears, doubts and problems. In the very ordinariness of these people, Moser is able to show the impact of God in their lives and their growth as they come to know more about who God is and to walk out in their faith. Throughout the book I found that my own life and faith was challenged and that my understanding of God grew through witnessing the experiences of the five visitors to Haven. If you want a book that is only good for gathering dust please look again. If instead you want a powerfully dramatic book which offers the possibility of growth in your faith then this is one for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars More thought provoking than "Left Behind" series, August 29, 2001

(REAL NAME)
You may "pull an all-nighter" when you start reading this book. The author held my interest, entertained me, and was thought provoking at the same time. A story of 5 different people who are invited to meet in a small Kansas town to explore their purpose in life.
Each of the 5 people has a distinct character. One of the 5 is a homeless person who ends up with a suprise background. This book is the first of a three book series with a forth book on the way.
Caution...this book may change the way you view your life and purpose as well as the life and purpose of others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb, September 11, 1999
By A Customer
Here is an inspiring book from a superb writer! Nancy Moser makes us care immediately about the characters, even as she draws us in to the mysterious circumstances surrounding "the invitation." The book accomplishes what Christian fiction often (unfortunately) fails to do--create a strong story and make you think deeply about the faith. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, You can feel Gods power working all around you, July 31, 1999
By A Customer
This book is one that you can't put down once you start. It grips you from page one, and you better hold on for one of the most supenseful reads of all time. You will want to pack up the car and go to Haven NE, yourself. After reading this book you will have to buy the sequel. Just an overall great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars a successful mixture of humour, spirituality and suspense!!!, September 25, 1999
I praise God for Nancy's talent of putting so many things together and no matter what, not missing the main message, that is of our faith in Christ and His faithfulness towards us!! i simply loved each and every page of this book. I especially like Nancy's idea of putting in a verse from the Bible at the beginning of each chapter and writing that chapter in accordance with the verse!! God Bless u Nancy and keep going!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best Christian Fiction books published, March 3, 1999
By A Customer
It is so refreshing to see Christian principles being told through characters who are real, funny, and truly entertaining. Nancy gives us as much 'meat' about Christian ideals as a self-help book; but in an extremely creative storyline. We can relate to her characters and their struggles with life's temptations and God's plans for their lives. She made me contemplate what direction God wants me to take to serve Him. I can't wait to follow these character's lives in 'The Quest'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't start reading it if you don't have time to finish!, July 7, 1999
By A Customer
I was immediately drawn to the characters (especially good old Walter). They were as imperfect as I am. But The Invitation showed me there is hope--for all of us. We were put on this earth for a reason. The hard part is finding out what it is and then doing something about it. This book made me look at my own life--and look to God for some guidance. It made me excited about the possibilities... Read it ASAP. It will change your life. (by the way, this would make a GREAT movie!)

5.0 out of 5 stars A spellbinding contemporary christian mystery novel, March 2, 1999
By A Customer
The Invitation is chock full of nourishment for the soul! Nancy Moser writes an interesting mystery that captivates her reader. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for ways to keep God's purpose in their lives. This book reminded me to focus on using, and continuing to discover, my God given talents. If we would all strive to learn how to apply God's purpose in our lives (like the characters here did), the world would be a much happier and productive place! I can't wait for The Quest to come out in June 1999. I plan on being one of the first to get my own copy!

5.0 out of 5 stars moving inspirational book whose author gets the point across, June 1, 1998
By A Customer
This book, The Invitation, was one of the best books I have ever read. I think that anyone who does not read this book needs to think again. Nancy Moser gets her point that God is everywhere across so well I don't think anyone could have done better. I award her on this fabulous well written book and hope to see a sequel soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars A terriffic book, October 11, 2005

This book really is a fun book to read. The use of scripture gives you something to really think about in your day. The charactures are so likeable that you want to continue after the book is done. So then you can read the other 2 books of the series! All of the books are really good. Everyone should read the mustard seed series and then wear your pin proudly.
