Book Description

June 1994
For those who would like to explore the essence of The Secret Doctrine, or who have had difficulty penetrating its two large volumes, An Invitation to The Secret Doctrine should prove welcome. Based on Blavatsky's study suggestions given to her personal students, it is a succinct and appealing statement of the SD's principal teachings in her own words. Included are the Bowen notes of HPB's comments, relevant pages from The Secret Doctrine, photographs of HPB's manuscript, a historical account of 'The Writing of The Secret Doctrine' by Kirby Van Mater, and a glossary of terms.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just so you know, February 9, 2008
This review is from: An Invitation to the Secret Doctrine (Paperback)
Gary Reichenbacher is a Christian with apparently nothing better to do than write bad reviews for books he hasn't read...in a backwoods attempt to save us all from the abysmal pits of hell...which is where we'll all end up should we decide to read the aforementioned books. If you share his narrow view of philosophy chances are you're illiterate and not looking to buy any of the books he's reviewed in the first place. If you are a free thinker looking to expand your spiritual and intellectual horizons then you should take all of his bad reviews as further proof that you'll enjoy the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great anthology of essential Blavatsky fragments, October 2, 2011

This review is from: An Invitation to the Secret Doctrine (Paperback)
You will find no devils in these pages, nor too many ghosts, other than those spirits seen by mediums.

Included in this booklet are all the necessary articles and fragments from Blavatsky's books necessary to understand her major work: The Secret Doctrine.

You'll learn about karma, reincarnation, the Unity of All, get a glimpse of spiritual evolution and how everything is intertwined.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good introduction for beginners, February 11, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: An Invitation to the Secret Doctrine (Paperback)
Helene Petrovna Blavatsky has a common sense approach to magik and it's practices. This is a good mid-level introduction into pagan 'secrets', with well written examples for your own rituals.
