parents and teachers as partners,
This review is from: Inviting Families into the Classroom: Learning from a Life in Teaching (The Practitioner Inquiry) (Paperback)
This book deals with a very important and often overlooked aspect of a child's education, the connection between classrooms and families. Lynne Strieb makes clear the richness that comes from allowing parents into the classroom. Using the notes she took over a lifetime of teaching, Ms. Strieb details for her readers the importance of making families feel welcome, the different ways parents can help in the classroom, and the problems that may sometimes arise. I found this book to be extremely thought-provoking and hard to put down.

engaging reading even for non-teachers,
This review is from: Inviting Families into the Classroom: Learning from a Life in Teaching (The Practitioner Inquiry Series) (Hardcover)
I found this to be a thoroughly engaging read; not at all dry or academic. Lynne Strieb's style is clear and to the point, and her passion for her subject is inspirational.
