5.0 out of 5 stars Excellect variety of dark spiritual music and vocals, August 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Invocation (Audio CD)
Not fluffy or New Agey, I love the haunting, yet beautiful music and voices on this cd. Turn on Joycelyn Pook's track "Oppenheimer" for a charge thru your system. Also some great ambient vocals. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spiritual Journeys and Pathways, December 12, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Invocation (Audio CD)
One of the best New Age compilations around. Originally intended for the Christmas season, this CD is great for any time, especially for meditation. The two standout cuts are Jocelyn Pook's "Oppenheimer", an apocalyptic reading of Pie Jesu via Robert Oppenheimer's Vishnu recollections, and "Isolation-Part 1" by Pulusha (aka Global Communication), a nearly ten minute astral journey of beauty. Other tracks include Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Hilliard Ensemble, and the Mysterious Bulgarian Voices. Personally this CD was used as a meditative tool, and it took me not only into space, but to remembrances of past lives. Due to the fact that not all of these songs are soothing (i.e. light and uplifting in nature), I was oft reminded of the balances of life, light and dark, love and hate...and the synchronicity of it all.

Fantastic. I recommend this cd to anyone searching for something different. No 'unlistenable' songs. Some are downright beautiful.
