This review is from: Invulnerable (Audio CD)
Do you know when you hear something and it instantly sends shivers up and down your spine? Well, this did it! Aggressive power metal that just rips through your ears and your senses, swirling about inside like an internal tornado sending you into a metal frenzy. From song #1 this album bulldozes it's way through leaving everything in it's path destoyed and conquered. Now, the vocals used to be obnoxiously chaotic and seemed to be all over the place but on this album he seems to gain more control along with some good harmonies. He had some on the last juggernaut album "Non Plus Ultra" but this one he, like I said, has more control. The vocals are powerful and screeching at times and constantly hitting that vibrato and abusing it like a red headed stepchild. I have heard a lot of mixed reviews on this band because of his vocal style but I fell in love with it right away. Sounds a bit like Raven and Accept on steroids. Great chorus lines in the first two tracks [after the intro] and rolls along and breaks up with a slower song a bit towards the end, hammers out a few more gut wrenchers and then ends with a beautifully sung ballad called "Transcendence." I recommend this album to those who like the music of Kreator and Sodom with vocals like Raven and Accept. I would pick either this album up first if you are new to Centvrion [sometimes spelled with a "v" to seperate themselves from the others] or "Non Plus Ultra" as these are two stellar albums not for the weak hearted. The others are "Hyper Martyrium" and "Arise of the Empire." Power, chaos and kicked in the nuts vocals. What more do you need?
