Celentano's Art,
By unraveler "unraveler" (Nevada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Io Non So Parlar D'Amore (Audio CD)
Celentano has been one of my favoirtes for a long time. I used to listen to him a lot in Kiev in the 1980s. I've got to say that listening to this album, it is very hard to believe that it is sung and written by a man in his 60s. And yet it is true! Celentano's voice is virtually unchanged since the days of his youth. He is one of the few Italian pop artist who managed to take his craft beyond the borders of his native country with so much success. He has been popular in Eastern Europe and the now former Soviet Union for a very long time. Celentano is also a very famous actor, who starred in countless movies. If I had to pick a favorite song on this album, it would be the title track, "Io non so parlar d'amore." But all songs are good. Continental European music tastes have always been different from those in Great Britain and North America. The former has viewd music and its performance more of an art than business or a means for young men to get girls. Celentano, who lives with his family in Milan, is an illustrious representative of the Continetal European approach.

One more time, the number one,
By Stefano Scarpa (Chioggia (near Venice),Italy) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Io Non So Parlar D'Amore (Audio CD)
Celentano in Italy is a star for 40 years, he's an actor, recently he had a great success with a tv show, but above all he's the most famous italian voice. This work follows the duet album with Mina, another legend of italian music, that went out after a long absence from tv and this album has sold more than one million copies too. But it's not in his past and in all songs that signed last 40 years that is the reason to buy this record. Celentano's voice betters in time, and even if he remains faithful to his style, there's always elements of modernity in his songs. With the help of Gianni Bella and above all of Mogol, the author of the lyrics of Lucio Battisti, Celentano gives form to great love songs, and above all to "L'arcobaleno", dedicated from Mogol to Battisti, one of the most beautiful songs of last years, but also "Angel", "L'emozione non ha voce" and "Gelosia" enter in the best production of Celentano. "the rainbow is my message of love maybe one day I could touch you with colours we can cancel the most evident and waste bleakness""L'arcobaleno", my translation

Musical Perfection,

This is a top notch album by a top notch artist. Celentano is one of the best voices in the world. If you don't know that please listen to his work and find out. This album contains some terrific music ranging from ballads to all out rockers. The production is absolutely exquisite. The recording, arrangements and overall musicianship are the best I've heard in a long time. The CD has everything: great hooks, wonderful melodies, awesome guitar riffs, pounding drums, cool piano, pulsating bass... and did I mention that Celentano is one of the greatest singers in the world doing some of his best singing right here? Forget Billy, Elton and Bruce. Get this CD.

Adriano certainly does know how to speak of love, and has once again proven that his place in modern/contemporary Italian music is at the top!All of the songs on this CD are well worth listening to and I know that you, like me, will walk away humming quite a few! This is definitely worth purchasing!

I just received this Celentano cd today and I'm in love again!!! I've been in love with Celentano's voice since I bought a cd in Rome many years ago. This particular one tops the list!!! Celentano is like fine wine...gets better with age. If you know his work or are looking for a wonderful surprise, get this cd. I rank this with the cd he did with Mina. (another treat) If Celentano reads this review, please know how much you are loved and thank you for sharing your wonderful vocal talent with us!!!

This is one of the best CD's from Celentano. Different types of songs, rythms and style. All in one CD. This is also his latest CD. I got it in February in Rome and it was hard to find.

Better than ever!,

After decades of producing incredible music and putting out one hit song after another, it's remarkable that the new songs in this album are some of Celentano's best yet. There's a mixture of old and new elements here - the former are comforting, the latter - pleasantly surprising. His voice is as enchanting as ever, the tunes are catchy, and musicianship is superb.I rediscovered Celentano by a fluke very recently, years after a juvenile interest in his music back in the Soviet days in the old country. And I just don't seem to be able to shake off this fixation on him! Having listened to the music practically endlessly for days, I yearn for more. As for this particular album - L'Arcobaleno is mesmerizing; Una Rosa Pericolosa - stirring; Qual E'l Direzione - lots of fun; Angel - well, angelic; Le Pesch D'inverno is pure Celentano all the way, and the rest is pretty awesome too. All this raving from someone who, regrettably, doesn't understand a word of Italian... Arguably, knowing the language is a perk, but not a must in this case.

Gosh, I remember listening to Celentano's record when I was much younger. I first saw his movies. He is a brilliant actor. Than I have heard his voice and fell in love with his velvety voice. I solute Adriano Celentano for continuing making great records. For the lovers of Italian pop of 80s- it is a WONDERFUL CD.

Wonderful!,

First of all, Adriano Celentano is a wonderful singer. He has a great, strong, sexy voice. His songs are modern and are a pleasure to listen to. They are not like typical American songs, they have some European charm to them. But believe me, if you buy this CD, you won't be disappointed. My favorite song is Mi domando. It is absolutely mezmerizing. Although, it takes a long time to get this CD. It was about 2-3 months before I got mine. But it was definitely worth the wait AND the money.

This is clearly the very best CD Celentano has put out in the last 20 years! There is melody and poetry, and it is sung with superb style. It is a must for all those who enjoy Italian music, and consider themselves helpless romantics! Un album fa-vo-lo-so! Il grande Adriano ha colpito ancora. Forse dal lontano 1972 (I mali del secolo) che Celentano non creava un capolavoro tale!
